Global Warming Gone But Congress NOT!
The most urgent thing about global warming is that the US Senate is going to 'attack' it with the bread from your children.
The so-called energy bill is about 'cap and trade' which, last poll that I saw, only about 25% of people even know what it is. It's about taxing CO2, labelling it 'pollution.'
President Obama has said [search YouTube] "Under my plan of cap and trade, electricity rates will skyrocket."[it's going to cost us more than just more gas taxes...the price of EVERYTHING will be affected]
The last national debt clock I saw, showed each citizen of the US owing almost 40,000 dollars [over 10 trillion ...12 I think]
Current bailout and stimulus programs, in addition to regular programs are adding Trillions more to that debt over the next four years.
The Dallas Federal Reserve estimates UNFUNDED obligations for the future at "over 99 Trillion Dollars"]
This alone may be enough that our country as we know it may not survive.
Do we want to add trillions more for 'global warming'?
If you don't speak up this is going to happen. It is going to take an all out effort by citizens to stop this.
An MIT Meteorologist who served on the IPCC stated: “.One of the things the scientific community is pretty agreed on is those things will have virtually no impact on climate no matter what the models say. So the question is do you spend trillions of dollars to have no impact? And that seems like a nobrainer.”-- Richard Lindzen
YOU need to tell your senators that it is a no brainer and why...Esp. key Repub.Sen's McCain, Lugar, and Graham.
I sent this out to all my contacts:
A Few Good Men-- Actually, I am looking for a 1,000, male or female. PLEASE Forward to others who are concerned about this
“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” --Edmund Burke-- “No one could make a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.”
A new Irish documentary coming this month: [“Not Evil, Just Wrong”} addresses the global warming hysteria of politicians and the media.
While that title accurately describes most people who support the global warming “crisis”, ultimately, if the U.S. Senate passes “Cap and Trade’[Don’t be fooled with the new propaganda that this is a ‘jobs bill.’] the effects will be evil.
The poor of this world will suffer the most.[Even at current energy prices, the poor in many countries like Romania cannot afford heat.] But even here, this may be the final nail in the coffin for our economy. It is our children who will pay the price.
Plan of Action:
People need to write and speak up to the news media and their Senators. AND it would be great for people to write a letter to the editor of their local paper. [ A change of FOUR votes in the House in June would have defeated this bill]
Here is the link for Feedback to the PBS NewsHour which has closed ears for any scientists who speak out. [ On the 18 September NewsHour, Margaret Warner stated that: “this huge team of scientists from all over the globe issued these unanimous warnings about the really extreme danger to the planet.”]

Here is the link to write your Senators:

Three key Republican Senators are particularly lacking in wisdom on this: McCain, Luger, and Graham.
Here are links or quotes to choose from to educate these people:
“First off, there isn't a consensus among scientists. Don't let anybody tell you there is.”-- Dr. Charles Wax, past president of the American Association of State Climatologists
“It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don't buy into anthropogenic global warming.”-- Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg, NOAA
And from Dr. Richard Lindzen of MIT, served on IPCC: “"One of the things the scientific community is pretty agreed on is those things will have virtually no impact on climate no matter what the models say. So the question is do you spend trillions of dollars to have no impact? And that seems like a no brainer.”
Here, the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology at MIT, gives a clear, concise summary of the problem:

It makes very little sense to believe the output of the climate models…Vegetation is really controlling what happens whereas the emphasis in the climate models has always been on the atmosphere.
The idea that global warming is the most important problem facing the world is total nonsense and is doing a lot of harm. It distracts people's attention from much more serious problems.
When I listen to the public debates about climate change, I am impressed by the enormous gaps in our knowledge, the sparseness of our observations and the superficiality of our theories.
Climate change is part of the normal order of things, and we know it was happening before humans came. [sources and further quotes at link above].
Dr. John R. Christy, a lead author on the IPCC, Professor of Atmospheric Science and Director of the Earth System Science Center at the University of Alabama--Huntsville: [comments from debate on 11 Feb., 2009]: --Our ignorance about the climate system is enormous, and policy makers need to know that. This is an extremely complex system, and thinking we can control it is hubris. [THIS is the most important fact of the whole issue.]
Dr. Bill Gray, Expert Reviewer of every IPCC report, Professor Emeritus of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University -- Many thousands of scientists from the US and around the globe do not accept the human-induced global warming hypothesis as it has been presented by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports over the last 15 years. The media has, in general, uncritically accepted the results of the IPCC and over-hyped the human aspects of the warming threat. This makes for better press than saying that the climate changes we have experienced are mostly natural. The contrary views of the many warming skeptics have been largely ignored and their motives denigrated. The alleged “scientific consensus” on this topic is bogus.

“CO2 emissions make… no difference one way or another….Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so…Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot.” - Dr. Takeda Kunihiko
