Please consider the following Scriptures:
“ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” (John 17:3)
“I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.” (John 17:6)
“I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.” (John 17:4b)
Conclusion # 1: Jesus was 100% successful in revealing the Father to those chosen and given to Him by the Father.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” (John 14:6-7)
Conclusion# 2: Jesus was 100% successful in revealing Himself to those chosen and given Him by the Father…….for to know the Father is to know Christ.
“And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 16:16-17)
Conclusion# 3: The Father also reveals His Son.
“All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.” ( Matt. 11:27)
Conclusion# 4: All those given to Jesus have eternal life, for the revelation of the true God comes from both the Father and Son who cannot fail to accomplish that purpose.
Conclusion #5: It is impossible for men to know the Father or the Son without the supernatural revelation given them by God.
“At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.” (Matt. 11:25-26)
“And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.” Matt. 13:10-11)
Conclusion #6: Not all men are given this revelation because not all men are given to Christ.
“Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.” (Acts 15:18)
Conclusion #7: The decision to reveal or not reveal was determined in eternity……before we were born; before the Gospel was preached…..all of which was determined by the counsel of His own free will. (Eph. 1:11)
Conclusion #8: All men who have eternal life have saving knowledge of the Father and Son. But not all men who claim eternal life have the same saving knowledge. Why?
Conclusion #9: This is because their revelation of God came from their sinful flesh…..their sinful will, intellect and emotions. Their revelation did not come from God, who is not a God of confusion and who cannot fail to lead into all truth.
