What is Gasoline Costing You?

A recent trip to top off my gas tank found me paying $4.01 for a gallon of regular. That is in Riverside, CA.

So, where do you live and what is it costing you to keep that fossil fuel drinking car running?

Are you giving up other things to pay for gas?

£1.30 per litre. Very approximately, that works out (if I've done the maths correctly!) at $8.07 per US gallon!

Gasoline here in Houston, Texas is around 3.60 a gallon for regular, which I burn in my truck. However, my motorcycle uses premium which is about 3.85 or so. But, my truck gets 22 mpg average while my motorcycle gets 46.

One big reason for a differnence is the excise tax.

In Eastern North Carolina it's about $3.70 a gallon. Both South Carolina and Virginia are much cheaper as the Tax is lower.

And CITGO oil is imported from Venezuela by Dictator Hugo Chavez who hates America and openly avows our economic destruction! (We pay the Chavez regime nearly $10 Billion per year in oil revenues!)

Cheapest place in Ohio according to http://www.ohiogasprices.com is Columbus @ $3.48 a gallon. Where I live in Ohio, it is $3.78

Just paid $3.81 for regular. Our our new Democratic Governor Malloy wants to increase the tax on gasoline $0.27 per gallon. Folks aren't happy.

If the Canadian dollar is at par with the American, then we are paying $4.56 per U.S. gallon at the pumps. That is in Alberta where gas is cheapest.

I pay $4.10 a gallon in Madison, WI for premium gas. It costs about $65-$70 to fill up a tank of my car, about $50 for the wife's (she uses regular and has a smaller tank).

In Joshua 2415's home town of Paducah, Kentucky, I bought gas on Sunday afternoon at a BP station for $3.65. But not far away, another BP station was charging $3.69.
