My company 2 years ago bought over 200 computers from dell. Of those 200 computers about 100 to 125 of them had hard drives that quit working. On most of the computers I was able to recover the data, but on just about every single one of them the drives would make that all familier clicking sound as if I knew the drive was toast. The problem of the hard drives going out was not that big of a deal, becasue it gave me something to do. But it was Dell's reaction which about made me physco. I was required to call in nearly everyone of those PC's to Dell Support 1800 number where a 1 level tech would answer my call and ask me about 10 questions. This took up about 80 percent of my dad every day for a long time. My boss being the bully that he is called Dell and ranted and raved and made them send 50 brand new hard drives in the box ... which worked fine ...except they had to send the drives 3 different times because they either sent the wrong size or the exact same brand of drive which was dying out.
Do you think my trust in Dell is shaken? Will I ever spend my money on a Dell? Ha probably never. But they keep me a job, so for that I am grateful, becasue I know where ever I go Dell' will be dropping like flies.
