What is His Name?

The funny thing is that I had this same question from a JW as we were discussing things a while back.

She asked me something to the effect that if the Holy Spirit was a person, and persons have names, what was the name of the Holy Spirit?

My response was "God".

Reminds me of the old joke about the kid who thought God's name was Andy.

Just to provide context. "AndHe walks with me, andhe talks with me."=Andy.

It's a pretty cheesy joke. Though it may be old I heard it for the first time from J.D.Sumner on a youtube thingie about two weeks ago.

Bingo, one of the kids at our Church had an invisible friend named Jeff. While describing the Holy Spirit to one of the other kids he said "He's invisible like Jeff". Every since then that has been the joke around our Church.

Does everyone agree humor is also one of God's creation?

For sure!

Personally, and this is totally just my opinion, I kind of think Jesus got a kick out of suddenly appearing in a closed room and scaring the apostles half to death after He rose, just to give one example.

Actually, those are not names, but attributes.
Just like Smith, Tanner, Weaver, Cooper, Carpenter, and a host of other names are actually atributes.

Not to mention Anderson, Peterson, Hanson, and all the other '-son's'. A name can include the atributes of the person, and the attributes are usually at the name's root.

Remember 'Naomi' and 'Mara'? Or 'Israel'? 'Abram/Abraham'? 'Sarai/Sara'?

Most (European) ethnic groups have surnames that are derived from the attributes of the family or person, including Mac-, von, van, d', de, -ov/-ova,etc.

The Holy Spirit's name? Holy Spirit.

IMO,
