What is "M" night?

I went to a local Southern Baptist Church this past Sunday night to hear Evangelist David Ring speak. They were having "M" night. Nobody ever said what the "M" stood for, and I don't have a clue. Would appreciate somebody filling me in.

"M night" is MOBILIZATION NIGHT.

Get the Youth out in your Association or State and have a Pep Rally for Evangelistic purposes.

Ain't the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) folk lots of fun!

"M-Night" is "Monday Night", of course. ;)

At least, that is what was always said (on a yearly basis), in my own church, as M-Night, was always on a Monday.

Seriously, Ed Edwards is correct. This was an annual Associational event of the BTU, short for Baptist Training Union, among Southern Baptists, in those days, and I attended two or three, when I was a teenager, If I recall, correctly.

I've not heard of it, for several years (and I was the Assistant Church Training Director in my own church for about 7-8 years, so I believe it preceded my own time in that role), so do not know if any such thing has been done, anywhere in the last 20 years or so, but at least, we have not participated, lately, if such even still exists.

Thanks. Missions was my first guess, too, but there was nothing mentioned about Missions at this meeting. They did, however, count how many members were present from all the local Southern Baptist Churches and give awards to the ones with the most attending.

David Ring was an awesome speaker. I had heard him several times on TV, but never live.
