She can't examine this point honestly natters. To do so would take her to a truth that she is unwilling to accept.

Granny, tell Ol' Ricky "Hey" and that I'd welcome him back anytime. Everyone can make a mistake (or three), but he always was willing to give what he got.

Hey, as long as ANYBODY obeys the rules, they are welcome on this Board.

In Christ,

michelle, denying what is plainly evident by examining the texts themselves is not answering the point about the differences. I provided examples of how the KJV differs from the texts it was translated from, as you requested, and instead of answering the argument, you simply ignored the argument and denied the facts which you can read for yourself. This is not an honest examination of the issue.

Changes in the King James Version

"In 1769 the Oxford University Press published an edition of the King James version in which many small changes were made. These changes were of five kinds:

1. Greater and more regular use of italics; 2. minor changes in the text; 3. the adoption of modern spelling; 4. changes in the marginal notes and references; and, 5. correction of printers' errors.

This edition soon came to be known as "The Oxford Standard" edition, because it was widely accepted as a standard text by commentators and other publishers. The editions of the King James version published in our century generally reproduce this Oxford edition of 1769, with or without the marginal notes. The following information is given so that the reader may gain an accurate impression of how far the modern editions differ from the original King James version of 1611."

Now compare to the changes in Modern Versions:

michelle, don't you understand? A change is a change. Yes, there are more changes in modern versions, but that doesn't eliminate the changes in the KJV. That's the point. Who are you that you get to be the one that decides which changes matter and which changes don't?

Did you read any of those links? If you did, you would realize that the changes are different and for different reasons.

Ahh, so it's the authors of the posted links who get to decide what changes are or aren't relevant. Got it.

Yes I have read several of the links. Yes I realize the changes are SOMETIMES different and SOMETIMES for different reasons. That has nothing to do with the fact (that you keep avoiding) that changes also exist in the KJV. A blemish on one person does not prove another person is blemish-free, nor does pointing out another person's blemishes make your own blemishes disappear. Pointing out changes in other versions does not make changes in the KJV go away. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

God has made it evident for us faithful TODAY in English what his word is. You are not taking into account the providence of God concerning his words in your thinking. You are trying to justify BLATANT errors in the mv's, by your false logic and reasoning, ignoring this important FACT.

I see the KJVO logic as being about as compelling as "because the Pope said so."

What FACT was that again, oh yes, that the Holy Spirit has not given me the Word of Knowlege he gave you so you would be capable of knowing that the KJV translation is the only inspired copy of the word of God we have left.

What you are BLATANTLY denying is the power of God to preserve the multitude of manuscript evidence that allows us to have a certain foundation for what is TRUTH.

BTW, yelling doesn't make you right, it just makes more people notice that you are wrong.
