ITL, I think that's really good. Just needs to be more basic.
It's very difficult to condense life and death issues with eternal implications down much further.

The Gospel explained in it's simplicity to man in a dead state is foolishness to him unless the Spirit gives him life to believe.

I agree ITL. But I believe one of the problems that Christians run into in sharing the Gospel is has been displayed in this thread.
YOU are the only person who has mentioned ANYTHING of God's love for people.
How is it that the people in the church can give all these definitions about what the Gospel is but all but one person leaves out or makes no mention of the most important element: the Love of Christ?
It is inexplicable. Especially in light of 1 John 3:16
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
and 1 John 4:7-9
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
and Rev 1:5
5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God Romans 1:1
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
I wonder when God begin to love the world? When he determined he would give his Son? And why would there be a gospel?
saying, 'What do ye think concerning the Christ? of whom is he son?' Matt 22:42 YLT
but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and unspotted -- Christ's -- foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, 1Peter 1:19,20 YLT
And bow before it shall all who are dwelling upon the land, whose names have not been written in the scroll of the life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world; Rev 13:8 YLT
Wonder if God knew something bad was going happen to what he was about to create and establish that would require to be reconciled unto himself?
SAME one that Paul and the other Apostles taught/preached, that we are all sinners, none can get right with God by their own efforts/works, and that Jesus death was complete atonement/propiation God provided to save those intended to be saved by the Cross, so its by His death, and thru faith alone by that shed blood alone, sinners made right with God!
I just tried to read that as though I were a person who knew nothing of Christ and Christianity and it read like " ΙΔΙΑ αυτό που ο Παύλος και οι υπόλοιποι Απόστολοι δίδαξε / κήρυξε, ότι όλοι είμαστε αμαρτωλοί, κανένας δεν μπορεί να πάρει δεξιά με το Θεό με τις δικές τους προσπάθειες / έργα, και ότι ο Ιησούς ήταν ο θάνατος πλήρη εξιλέωση / propiation Θεός παρέχονται για να σώσει αυτούς που πρόκειται να σωθεί από ο Σταυρός, έτσι του από το θάνατό του, και μέσω της πίστης και μόνο από αυτό έχυσε το αίμα μόνο, αμαρτωλοί γίνονται με το Θεό"
well, it reads better then some who would call the Gospel'jesus loves me, this I know, the bible tells me so", or else" Ask jesus into your heart!"
DOn't have a problem witht he first part as it is Biblical and succinctly deals with the love that the Gospel is supposed to be about.
Never been a fan of telling folks to ask Jesus into their hearts as though we controlled it.
