What is the Most Profound Change [you've seen] in Your Lifetime?
Things taken for granted tops my list.
I remember when REA brought power lines to our farm. Water was pulled, a bucket at a time from the well. After school chore was to make sure there was enough wood in the kitchen for supper and breakfast the next morning. A kerosene lamp graced our dinner table. And, yes, I have brushed snow off a 2-holer seat.
It's still a blessing to flip a light switch.
It's still a blessing to open a faucet.
It's still a blessing to press a button for heat.
It's still a blessing to have a cool pillow in August in NC.
So many take so much for granted.
