What Is The Nature Of This Life Offered Here?

Jn.5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Jesus offers life here. The people already had physical life ,

So what was the nature and quality of the life being offered?

How would It change or influence a person?

What advantage would be the result?

What other scripture would help explain this?

Yes He does. That speaks to how long the life is. But let's look at it;
24 `Verily, verily, I say to you -- He who is hearing my word, and is believing Him who sent me, hath life age-during, and to judgment he doth not come,

[but hath passed out of the death to the life.]

What does this part of vs.24 speak to? What does it consist of? What changes?

Here is a verse from Romans 8:10 and if Christ [is] in you, the body, indeed, [is] dead because of sin, and the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness,

Does this help explain what elements are present in this life?
In other words, life from Jesus lasts eternally, but what is it to us, now

Here are some quotes from the topical bible

Spiritual nourishment and eternal life
Jesus offered spiritual nourishment and eternal life1. He is recognized as the Source of Life in Christian theology, both as the Creator and Sustainer of all life and as the Redeemer who offers eternal life to believers.

Jesus' role as the Source of Life extends beyond physical creation to encompass spiritual and eternal life. In John 10:10, Jesus declares, "I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness" . This statement highlights His mission to offer a life that transcends mere existence, characterized by spiritual abundance and fulfillment.

In John 6:35, Jesus refers to Himself as the "bread of life," saying, "Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst" . This metaphor illustrates Jesus as the essential sustenance for spiritual life, satisfying the deepest needs of the human soul. By partaking in this "bread," believers are nourished and sustained in their spiritual journey.

Did He?

John Chapter 5

39

Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;

40

and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

It seems like a statement of fact to me.

What is the life we are offered, here, and now?

The abundant life. "Foretaste of Glory Divine". The 'quality' of eternal life, which Paul exhorted to 'lay hold on':

John Chapter 10

10

The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

1st Timothy Chapter 6

12

Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

Romans Chapter 14

17

for the kingdom of God is ............ righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Those believing on Him already have eternal life:

He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life;......Jn 3:36

.....He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life,...Jn5:24

... He that believeth hath eternal life. Jn 6:47

Belief on Christ is the biggest indicator one can have that one has been born of God.

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

The life is life of the Spirit.
The nature of this life is abiding in Christ and Him in us.
The quality of this life is it is everlasting.
This life changes a person as that person bears fruit of the Spirit.
The advantage is life that does not perish.

Yes, but what about now, How does a person change? The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

Yes, this is getting more at the quality of what is being offered! We know eternal life speaks to the duration of it, this is more along the lines of the quality of the life. Unsaved people have physical life, but have no communion with God. They are dead men walking apart from the life God gives.

Jesus wasn't offering life there, He made a statement that depicted their depravity and unwillingness to obtain Salvation Gods ordained way, and also the underline cause it they didnt have the ability to come to Christ, as no man does save God savingly and supernaturally intervenes 6:44

Until man is saved he has no will to believe n Christ.

What did Jesus mean then in John10:The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. How does a person enjoy, life?
