What is wrong with the church

Unrepentant sin. The Church is mired in it and too hard headed to recognize its sin as sin.
Because most ministers try to minister with just facts!
We have elevated our fleshly theories above Scripture.
Most churches have a form of godliness but deny the power of the Holy Spirit.
We do not worship in truth and Spirit.
Just to name a few!
We have no Spirit led power.
They stopped caring for people

I believe most churches today have preachers that don't belong in the pulpit. And their sermons/messages are meant to entertain and tickle ears. Also church discipline is a thing of the past. Other than that we do have lots of social clubs with names that don't even resemble what a church name used to be.

It is a mistake to tar every New Testament Church with the same brush. Some churches may have problems, but I'm aware of many which vigorously involved in the Great Commission--including the one I serve.

too much False Doctrine that's not from God and they are the ones preaching it--they will answer for their traditions that are of men :tear::tear::tear:

One thing is not being baptized in the Holy Ghost. This will leave a pastor/leaders and members powerless in witnessing for Christ.
Without this baptism, a person is left with very few options. Usually flesh options.
One of the most prevalent is the fear message. "If you do not accept Jesus you will go to hell, but if you do you will go to heaven."
While this is a truth exampled in Mark 16, and may win many to Christ, it is foolishness to an unbeliever.
There is a better way.
Jesus went about healing the sick, raising the dead, cleansing the lepers. Why? To help unbelief. When an unbeliever is prayed for by a stranger and gets healed, they are all ears to hear the Gospel. "The goodness of God brings a man to repentance."
Each person that has been born again has this power within them, if they will believe.
It is why members are leaving churches, and is so difficult grow. Without the Holy Spirit in operation.

Too many churches are stuck with methods from the past. Our world has changed. We should not change the message, but we must change the methods to meet the world where it is today.
Methods?!? Shuch as?
Stop using the model of "bring them in," for the will no longer come in on their own. We must follow the great commission commanded by Christ of "going into the world," and meeting them where they live and work. This is why I believe the primary role of a pastor is to help all the ministers in his/her church ... that is all the people in the church ... be prepared to take Christ into the world where they live and work.
There is no division of clergy and laity. If a person is a Christian they are clergy, clergy in the world where they live and work and where the pastor cannot go.
Both Carlyle Marney and Elton Trueblood wrote good works on this topic.
I think this is an over-simplification, as if all or churches are filled with zealous, godly men & women who are just using the wrong methods. If the problems Jesus & Paul addressed in the early church are any indication, the problems go much deeper than that.
This is biblical...Elders are to "Equip the saints for ministry."
Not sure what you mean here....Yes, all Christians are ministers of the Gospel...but not all are called to be Elders & overseers of a congregation.
Those who are elders, deacons, overseers, this is part of their call as Christians. Not all are called to these positions. However, those elders, deacons, overseers may not be called to be engineers, physicians, garbage collectors, etc. But all, regardless of their station in life who are Christian are called to be ministers to their world wherever they find themselves.
For instance I have friends who work in places that you and I can never enter. If their do not carry the message of Christ into these places to those who are lost, no one will be able to carry the message to them.
Also, I forgot in my earlier post to mention that church as we know it may have to change. I have friends who are charter members of a church that meets every Sunday morning in a coffee house. I have not visited this church, thought I want to and I have not had a time when I could sit and talk with them about how this form of church works. They live in a another city about 125 miles from where I live.
I believe this is a form of church as well as house churches that may well be a real hope for Christianity in the future. Congregations in the future may have a very different organization, look and feel than what you and I are used to ... but we must not make the mistake of insisting that what worked in the past must be continued now and in the future.

This is a biggie and goes near the top of the heap of unrepentant sin because we do this and don't even acknowledge that we do it all the time.

To see what's wrong with the church, all you have to do is see the attitude some people have toward one another when subjects come up on this board and there's a difference of oppinion then all :BangHead: breaks loose.
Its also (the church) full of effeminate men instead of real men. I noticed that the other day when visiting a church.....I looked around the room & it seemed like most of these guys had been castrated. It creeped me out!
