What is YOUR "Life Verse"

Matthew 17:20
- And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

My life goal is to have the mountain moving faith.

When I had cancer this is the verse that got me through it:

Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

It is hard for me to pick one...but, Micah 6:8 certainly comes to mind. One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Deuteronomy 6. I also enjoy reading the letters from Paul. I just like it all.

Thats a nice one. (I shoulda known you'd pick one thats hard to find) I think I already posted one earlier, but I really like Psalm 19:14 "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." THis has been my months verse.

Love the LORD Your God
1 These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. 3 Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you.
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. [a] 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

10 When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, 11 houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied, 12 be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

13 Fear the LORD your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name. 14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; 15 for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land. 16 Do not test the LORD your God as you did at Massah. 17 Be sure to keep the commands of the LORD your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. 18 Do what is right and good in the LORD's sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers, 19 thrusting out all your enemies before you, as the LORD said.

20 In the future, when your son asks you, "What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the LORD our God has commanded you?" 21 tell him: "We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. 22 Before our eyes the LORD sent miraculous signs and wonders—great and terrible—upon Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household. 23 But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land that he promised on oath to our forefathers. 24 The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today. 25 And if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness."

Never heard of 'life verse'. But for the past year it's been this one:

"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. Because narrow is the gate, and hard is the way that leads to life, and few indeed are those who find it." Matthew 7:13-14

There's a lot of depth in those two verses.

Mine is Job 13:15: "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him..."

No matter what happens to me, I know that it is His will, and it is just."

My life passage would be from Philippians Chapter 3 as listed below with the key verses being 13 and 14. It has always made me want to do more for my Saviour.

7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Special verse for ministry:
II Timothy 2:2 "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."

Special verse for life:
Psalm 115:1 "Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake."

Special verses for my terminal illness:
Psalm 90:15 "Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil."
and
Job 19:25-27 "I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!"

I have bounced around lately. For a long time it was:

"And we have this treasure in earthen vessels..." II Cor 4:7...

Then, recently it changed to:

"And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers." Deut 6:23...

and last week, God reminded me of the things too wonderful for me - mighty works that He has done for me and my family, so:

"...Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:" Luke 10:23

My life verse is Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
One of the best things to ever happen to me was when I lost my job. It had been keeping me from knowing the Lord more intimately and serving him. After commiting it into his hands he opened the door to a job that payed almost twice as much and that left me the time I needed to serve him. This is just one example of how this verse has plaid out in my life. It constantly rings true over and over again.

Last summer I was struck with fatigue, severe bruising and bleeding, blackouts and vertigo...at the same time I was going to school and finishing up to graduate. I was in the hospital early last September where I was sent to an oncologist and there I was diagnosed with ITP. The drugs they put me on made me very sick and made me so desperate for help that I wanted to end my life. I never had felt SO alone. I often wondered if this was my end, that it may very well be in the Lord's will for me to die. He carried me through it and he's still got my hand.

After a year, God changed my life with this illness, my thorn in my side...for the good. He's made me so much more aware of what my priorities need to be, for his Glory.

I've come to grow quite alot in my 1 year anniversary of my diagnosis. I chose this verse, and can choose it now that I have accepted the battle that lie ahead:

John 11:4
This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

The verse I keep close to my heart, and I realize how powerful this verse is:

Prov.17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Bones make your blood. Without blood we cannot live.

I also realized that hospitals are an excellent mission field, and weekly visiting a place where people are dying, they only have one hope. And it's not the Catholic Priest to give them their last rites.

Psalm 139
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Lamentations 3:21-24

(21) This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.

(22) It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

(23) They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.

(24) The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Peace-

I think the verse that overall depicts the infallability, righteousness, and truth of Jesus is:

Prov 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
KJV

With my recent diagnosis I have continally proclaimed....

Ps 118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
KJV
