What is your opinion of Dr. Henry M. Morris?

Let's see, Dr Morris believed that Jesus was not Mary's biological son and he also believed the whole world was not flooded even tho that is what the Bible says. Where did he get his inside information from?

Dr. Morris believed the entire great global flood as is recorded in Genesis. For proof on this read Defending the Faith by Dr. Morris on page 84 and there are many other places in that book as well as many of his other books, His work is so strong on the flood.

I thought my post mentioned the universal flood in Genesis, and I believed in a local flood, as a difference with Morris. I also said his ideas about the Birth of Jesus was novel and worth reading.

I think Dr. Morris has a valid argument on the creation of Jesus in the womb as opposed to a fertilized egg. There is nothing in scripture either way, so it is all speculation at best, but may satisfy reason.

I disagree. Paul says that Jesus Christ was the seed of Abraham. That could only be true if Mary was his physical mother, not just a borrowed womb.

No! But what does that have to do with the virgin birth of Jesus Christ? It is my understanding that inherited sin is passed through the man. Mary had a human father, Jesus Christ did not!

Pardon me, I misread your post. Now I am wondering why you believe in just a local flood.

In the introduction to the "New Defender's Study Bible," Dr. Morris is very up-front about the fact that he states his opinion on topics that may Christians do not agree about. He goes on to say that he hopes those who do not agree at some point will still find his other notes useful. To me that is a refreshing and humble attitude.

I wish that more Christians and more Baptists had that attitude and that there was less anger and name-calling on points where we disagree. We are all human and we are all going to be wrong at times, but we are going to be spending eternity together so it might be a good idea to start getting along better now!

I have read several of his books. Some I agree with and some I do not. I heard him speak in 1997 and he was great.
