I understand, however the metaphors are biblical and from the mouth of God come in the flesh. I too argue for a congregation of real live people in a real live assembly, one purged of the "tares" (metaphorically speaking) however.What I argue for is a real live assembly of real live people congregating. This type of entity does not require allegory or metaphor.
Until then I don't deny the extreme importance of the biblical local church and it's earthly mission.
