WHAT! ! No KJB Sunday School Lit. after 2005???

I have done that very thing with pretty good success in the past. I believe that God's word will not return void, even if it isn't supplemented by the SBC's commentaries.

I have been a teacher for alsmot 30 years, of all age groups. I have no problem with using high quality, Bible focused teaching materials.

Fair play Joseph - not going to "fight" with you on this issue . I guess I'm just a lazy teacher who doesn't hold to the sufficiency of the Word of God.

Do you think, then, that it will be hindered if you use such materials? Is there no place for study tools in your world? Perhaps those are just for the teacher- maybe your students need your personal perspective to really understand the Bible.

Part of the benefit of good Sunday School or Bible Study material (pre-packaged or personally prepared) is that it allows the student to be taught beyond the one hour a week you spend with them. In my experience, often a lack of a formal plan can often just be an excuse for a teacher to read a few verses, shoot from the hip on what they think it means because they haven't taken time to prepare through the week, generate a discussion on something vaguely related to the passage, and ultimately spend very little time on application of the Word of God that will aid in changing their lifetstyle and behavior to become more godly and obedient.

BTW- I'm not saying this is what you do, Joseph. But in my experience, many teachers who reject a structured approach in a format like Sunday School end up expecting little from their students in outside of class week to week preparation and review- often because they end up preparing very little themselves. it is more difficult, in my view, to maintain a focus that allows you to cover a topic or book of the Bible in 13 weeks. You have to make sure you are focused on the Word and less on your opinions and experiences. A good curriculum can help people accomplish this.
