I think you are just confused.
Answer the three questions I gave HP:

    1. Do you sin?
    2. How often?
    3. Do you sin every day?

Is this an inference that I don't?
Is this questioning my salvation--against the rules--definitely sin!!

DHK, do you think you could exercise your faith for one day in God, believing Him when He promises to provide a way of escape for every temptation you could possibly face, just for one day? Would you allow God to purify your heart by faith for a single day?

I'll answer your question, if you answer my three first.

How about if we both purpose in our hearts to put God to the test by faith for a day? Fair enough?

You are a false accuser you are a slanderer.
It is NOT normal for a believer to sin.
I do not lie every day.
I do not sin in my mind every day.
You also make up sins that are not sins.

"Every idle word that a man shall speak he shall so give account of in the day of judgment."
--Have you ever spoken an "idle word"?

Do you know what an idle word means? Do you know what it means to work out your salvation with trembling and fear? I hardly believe you do, because you said it is NORMAL for a Christian to sin.

Are you going to apologize for falsely accusing me of lying today?

There is no evidence that Christians get a better deal from God in this life. Only thing Jesus promised his followers in THIS life is hard times and then pie in the sky, by and by.

Not DHK, but this caught my eye so I'm tossing my two cents into the ring.

Paul said, "I am the cheif of sinners"

James said "he who knows to do good and doesn't do it, sins"

John says "if we say we have no sin, we decieve ourselves and the truth is not in us."

DHK is right. Believers sin. But there is a difference between us vs the unsaved. Our sin is not imputed against us (Ro 4:8) because Christ has already paid the payment. So, in answer to his questions:

    1. Do you sin? yep
    2. How often? Don't keep count
    3. Do you sin every day? possibly. I did today. I had a, um, bad attitude toward my godson's bio-father who thinks I'm "worldly". (yeah, worldly cause he doesn't like a particular band I allow my son to listen to)

And then dadnabit, I had to turn around and tell the boys my attitude was wrong. (I've done as much raising of my godson as his bio-father has done these last years so, telling me *I* am worldly was most likely intended to provoke me. That doesn't mean I should have let it. It's hard being human.)

If you think Paul continued practicing to be the chief of sinners after Jesus saved him, then you are badly mistaken.
Do you think you have a license to sin? As for DHK, he said it is normal for believers to sin. He said we lie every day. He said many untruths.
It is not nice being falsely accused.

You so not understand that scripture. The scripture is talking about those who did not have faith. “What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God's faithfulness?”
Whenever someone goes against God that is what makes a man a liar. You using that scripture to try to say someone here is a liar is ridiculous

Only God doesn't lie. It is not ridiculous. Are you God?

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Moriah, Paul said he was the cheif of sinners well after he'd been converted on the Damascus road. When do you suppose he quit "practicing"?

Let me put it to you this way. I walked around the corner at the supermarket this weekend and ran into the man who'd been my doctor for years. Now he's retired and no longer "practices". Is he still a doctor? Yep. But he doesn't "practice". He could if he had the desire, he still has the skills, the education. Not practicing doesn't make him less of a doctor.

Paul was saying the very same thing. It's not that he doesn't sin, but that his focus is on following Christ rather than doing his own thing. Paul didn't lose his identity as a sinner when he gained his identity in Christ. he only lost the consequences of sin.

And so it is with us. Learning to follow Christ is a lifelong endeavor. We won't lose that part of us that is capable of and even desires to sin, until we are made perfect in heaven (or at the Second Coming whichever comes first.)

It is a shame the way you try to handle the word of God.

First, you try to use the scripture to call me a liar. When I explained that to you, you tried two more scriptures to say I am a liar.
1 John 1:8, 10 is about becoming a Christian. It is about Jesus saving us. We must admit we are sinners.
You cannot try to use the Word of God against me.

He quit practicing being the worst of sinners after Jesus saved him!
If he is not practicing being a doctor, than he is not practicing being a doctor.
So you do think salvation means you have a license to sin.
Have you ever given up even one sin for Jesus? Are there ways you know you need to obey and do not?
