    It seems the non-calvinist are more obsessed with Calvinism than Calvinist are.

    I did. I found this board by doing a google search for "truth of calvinism", as I was leaning heavily towards that direction after finding out a friend, who I highly respect, was a calvinist. I actually came here with a semi closed mind, thinking calvinism were true, or at least looking to confirm it. After much prayer I asked God to allow me to have an open mind, and let me learn according to His Word only, not any five point system. The rest is history....

    :thumbs: I am glad we can talk about what irritates us without getting irritated. :)

    Something I often forget is that even those who disagree with me on most things I will more than likely bump into quite often throughout eternity. :) Of course, you'll all agree with me then...

    So, I like it when things become a little more friendly.

    God bless you all... even the Calvinists :praise:

    My pet peeve is the calvin vs Armin threads---the posters go on as if Calvin and Arminian are the only two authors in their library collection

    Calvin said this

    Arminian said that

    When its all said and done---both are a little bit less than infallable and inerrant and from what I've read of each--each was a little bit less than inspired!!

    I concur with webdog. You don't typically see things like Remonstrant4Life or FreeWillFred, while you'll find pictures of Calvin, Calvinist screen names, and other Calvinist things quite often.

    There is a similar trend in versions discussion. You don't find PreacherJoeNASB or JimBobNIV, but you will see a large number of names with AV, 1611, KJV, or any combination of those.

    Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems most of the "calvinism" threads are started by those who wish to take shots and Calvinism.

    My similar 'testimony' ended thankfully with my fully embracing the doctrines of grace. Our pastor preaches verse by verse three times weekly to a filled church of people hungry for truth.
    I do know that occurs in other church, that are not calvinist but this is sound doctrine, biblically substantiated as far as every word I've heard there. God knows them that are His, wherever they are!!

    The 1,000s of Bibles Folk start all the bashing on the
    Version/Translation Forum.

    Oh well, our pastor says if we embrace the truths of the doctrines of grace that the whole world will hate us!

    However, we will all be calvinists in heaven! Why, because it is totally God focused, God honoring, God exalting, not people pleasing, felt needs centered or entertainment centered. Only God and His word and His ways!

    Soooo, pertaining to the OP this topic seems to cause much irritation to those other than calvinists!

    Then I guess we were both predestined to believe in opposite theologies? I guess, too, that when Jesus said "a kingdom divided against itself will fall" must not have been totally accurate?
