On FB I asked "What would Trump do about Ukraine?"

Kathy answered:
If you wanted to get from NY to FL and someone offered to take you from VA to GA wouldn't you let them? Trump spent 4 years doing things that help Putin's goals.
He's a quote I read on the subject.
"Trump’s foreign policy sought to do much of what Putin wants to achieve, including intimidating Ukraine by withholding vital defensive weapons.”
Quite right. Putin wanted to undermine the NATO alliance, and Trump undermined the NATO alliance. Putin wanted to weaken the E.U., and Trump made little effort to express his disdain for the E.U. Putin wanted to weaken the U.S. political system, and Trump was unnervingly aggressive in trying to weaken the U.S. political system.
Seeing Trump’s approach to Putin, Russia in a brutal new light
Putin wanted to hurt Ukraine, and Trump launched an extortion scheme that threatened to hurt Ukraine.
Why didn’t the Russian leader deploy troops into Ukraine during Trump’s term? Perhaps because Putin was so pleased with an American president who pursued goals in line with Moscow’s agenda.

“Kathy” suffers from Trump derangement syndrome.

Trump strengthened NATO by demanding member countries pay what they were required to pay. More money coming in made NATO stronger.

Trump sent anti-tank and other weapons to Ukraine, which was not done under Obama.

Trump signed the law that stopped the Russian pipeline to Germany with sanctions. B:den lifted those sanctions, contrary to US Law.

The EU weakened themselves with liberal policies that undermined the sovereignty of their member nations. Yes, Trump rightly pointed out liberals in the EU were destroying the future of their citizens.

Putin is invading now because he he believes he will not be seriously challenged by the western nations.

So, yes, I disagree we Kathy.

peace to you

Partially agree with the facts, but her conclusion is horribly illogical. Yes Trump did those things. No, it doesn't mean he's at fault.

An arsonist and a firefighter may both want to burn down a dilapidated building. The firefighter wants to because it is a danger to nearby structures while the arsonist wants to commit arson. Just because the firefighter shares the same goal as the arsonist temporarily doesn't make them comparable, and if the arsonist chooses to burn down the house the firefighter is not at fault for having lobbied the city council to burn it.

Likewise Trump may have done things that benefitted Putin, but he was doing them because it benefitted the U.S primarily. If Putin takes advantage of circumstances produced by Trump bettering the U.S that's not Trump's fault. And you can bet that if Putin tried to take advantage while Trump was in office Trump wouldn't allow it.
