Working 2 jobs has killed me socially as I have zero time for anything. It's one of the reasons this is my last week at my second job. I do not do Facebook much as I do not like the crummy interface and platform. I prefer good old fashioned message boards and why I am here. So what would do without this board? Some of you live in remote areas so you cannot be out witnessing like I can so you have nothing to keep you going besides this board. If you are single I bet you are very lonely and probably spend allot of time watching TV. If I lived in Aspen, Steam Boat Springs or some other remote area of Colorado and away from family I sure would be lonely. So what about you?

There's a lot of forums out there. I used to visit a new one regularly, but in the last year or so I have been pretty busy and have not actually found a new one recently, and its just easier to come here and spend a little time. This is the only Forum out of the many I have visited that I come back to. Perhaps because it is Baptist.

God bless.

There are a couple of people here I like and there are some good threads. Unfortunately, most of the good people here seem to have moved on.

I really miss the threads we used to have about music.

There are plenty of other places and some really good groups on Facebook.

Could you explain what you mean by "good people?"

One thing is definite, I wouldn't miss the sarcasm that fills so many posts and replies. Christ said the world would know us by the love we have for one another and this is the absolute last place I would think to see the opposite of this. It's called "Baptist Board". I realize there are some aberrant beliefs here and not all are Christian. However, just because one states his position, which isn't heretical by the way, and it isn't agreed with, is no reason to begin hurling ridiculous comments. It's a sort of childish pride that nearly equates to bullying. Disagreeing is one thing. Attempting to belittle another because of the disagreement is what I would call sinful behavior toward the brethren.

Feel free to start one. :)

I've started many. All the people who liked to talk about music are gone. Curtis is still here sometimes, but he never posts in that forum anymore.

Yes. Like the Facebook page, "Friends of the Baptist Board." :D

More like PuritanBoard, and the Reformed Pub and Calvinist pages on Facebook.

I like to talk about music. My opinions are sometimes a bit primitive (after all, I am a very old man), and sometimes take the form of "my music good. Your music bad." But I still like to talk about it. :D

When I joined the board....16 years ago Confused... I was a seminary student and used the board to look at other views as well as explore my own understanding on various topics. I suppose now it is more of a hobby. I still like conversing with people who hold different views, and there are not many venues to discuss many of these topics. But.... If it were to vanish I'd probably spend more quality time catching up on television shows. :(

I have been attacked and criticized so often here I know the experience unfortunately.

The cliques here encourage that.

I would just continue my life as it is.

To be honest, when you are in debt, having the second job is sometimes a necessity even if you have "no life". I know single moms who have worked two jobs AND gone to college to get an education to further their earning potential in the future. They have children to take care of as well and forget "fun" stuff - they put their nose to the grindstone and just do it. That's what ya gotta do sometimes.

Not if it messes up my health which it has done.
