You guys do realize this is Saggy's way of figuring out how old we all are, and she hasn't said when SHE graduated.

Class of 1983, and I really didn't listen to much music then or now for that matter so I couldn't tell you what was popular.

Bitsy you graduated the same year as my oldest sister.

Oh yea and I robbed the cradle when I married Jeanne she was class of 1988. Yup I was out of collage before she was out of High School.

Bill
Don't worry, Bill...I did the same thing. My wife graduated in '95 (me '90), she was 19 and I was 24.
When I'm 74 and she's 69, you will hardly know...

*edited, no rhyme intended :)

I was '77, my wife, '74. Instead of her being 19 when we married I was. I knew what I wanted then and I know what I still want now. Thank God for a good companion.:godisgood:

Wow...20 year reunion this year! Are you going? I'm looking forward to my 20 year reunion, as I didn't go to the 10 year.

In '92, I was contacted about a reunion, and when they told me they wanted to have a big drinking party on the riverboat, I told them I wasn't interested. I haven't been contacted about a reunion since. There are maybe a couple of people I wouldn't mind seeing, but, for the most part, my high school years weren't enjoyable.

My wife graduated in '89 and we didn't meet until '94. I've always wished that we would have known each other before then.

I went to see Lionel Richie and the Commodores right after I graduated in Houston -- What was the name of that arena? We've been gone too long.

It was probably either the Sam Houston Coliseum or the Summit.

It'll always be The Summit to me. Compaq Center? Blah! Lakewood Church? Fuhgedaboutit! I saw many concerts, Rockets games, and the Ringling Brothers Circus there.

The thought of sport in Houston reminds me of this little ditty some of you may remember during the Luv Ya Blue days, that will further prove just how old I am:
========
Look out football, here we come, Houston Oilers, Number One.

Houston has the Oilers, the greatest football team.
We take the ball from goal to goal like no one's ever seen.
We're in the air, we're on the ground - always in control,
And when you say the Oilers, you're talking Super Bowl.

'Cause we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers,
Houston Oilers, Number One.
Yes, we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers,
Houston Oilers, Number One.

We've got the offense, we've got the defense,
We give the other team no hope.
'Cause we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers,
You know we're gonna hold the rope.

Yes, we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers,
Houston Oilers, Number One.
Yes, we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers,
Houston Oilers, Number One.

'Cause we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers,
Houston Oilers, Number One - Five - Seven - Eight,
We're the best from the Lone Star State!
Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers,
Houston Oilers, Number One.

I know the song very well. My mother went to school with the people who wrote the song.

Edited to say: My dad is from Dallas and mom is from Houston. Needless to say, football was an interesting season at our house before the Spoilers moved.

I'm sure it was the Summit. You move a lot like we have, and you forget the names of places -- they merge. Sometimes, someone will ask for my address or phone number and I'll start to peel off one from the past and wonder how that one popped up.

It does help me understand how really old folks (hush up you youngun's) can remember things that happened ages ago like it's yesterday and not remember what's going on now.

I went to HS in Houston and that's where Ron and I met and married -- the kids were born in Memorial City General Hospital. Ahhhh the memories. Oilers, Astros, Katy FWY, feeders, Charlie's Hamburgers, Northbrook High . . .

AND Joel Osteen ain't part of 'em. ;)
