What's so big about Andy Stanley?

Why do so many like him and why does he have so much influence on others? I like his father but it appears the son is a bigger hit amongst today's evangelicals. The son appears more to the left so I pay him no attention.

How do you have time to start a new thread and discuss Stanley when you keep telling John of Japan you don't have time to answer his questions, defend your positions, or engage in dialog?

He has his flaws but he's a good communicator and my hubby has learned some things from him. The big thing that he uses of Andy's is the idea of when you give a message or speak anywhere, give them something to know and something to do. So like if you are preaching on a passage, what is something you want them to know from that passage and based on that passage, what is something that they can do? This boils the message down to hopefully something people can remember. It's a good method over having a 6 point outline with 7 sub-points under each one.
