When are names written in the Lamb's book of Life?

In Luke 10:20 we are told to rejoice that our names are written or recorded in heaven. In Hebrews 12:23 we have come spiritually to heaven, being "in Christ" and therefore our names have been written or recorded in heaven. Since those "in Christ" belong to Christ, and we have been made alive together with Christ, it follows that our names have been written in the Lamb's book of life.

Hebrews 12:23 appears to answer the question of when because it says we are joining those who have been (past tense) made perfect. Thus our names have been written after we have been made perfect when we were transferred into Christ.

Both Revelation 13:8 and 17:8 imply names are written since the foundation of the world which is the time span from creation to and including the present. These verses exclude having our names written before the foundation of the world, the bogus belief of some based on misinterpreting Ephesians 1:4.

The Lamb's book of life is not the OT book of the living, another bogus belief of some.

One final point, Hebrews 12:22 says those "in Christ" have entered the new Jerusalem or heavenly Jerusalem, and Revelation 21:27 says no one enters the new or heavenly Jerusalem except those who names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

It is a lock.

Revelation 17:8 Whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world.

Since some names were not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, that means that some names were written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world.

The some that were written in the Book of Life are those whom God the Father gave to God the Son to be their Surety, to work out a perfect righteousness during His time on earth, which is imputed to His sheep, who were chosen before the foundation of the world( Ephesians 1:4 ), and He paid the total sin debt of His sheep ( John 10:15 ), a sin debt imputed to Christ ( 2 Corinthians 5:21 ), and these sheep are regenerated by the Holy Spirit during their time on earth and granted the gift of faith in Christ and His finished work on their behalf, and the gift of repentance from dead works, and God preserves them until their life on earth is finished (Jude 1:24 ).

It is a lock. Why? Because God has said so in His Word, and God cannot fail to accomplish His purposes, and once a person's total sin debt is paid, God cannot demand payment for it again.

A stated prerequisite in Matthew 18:3, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

And as stated in Mark 10:15, Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

And in Luke 18:17, Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

Question, so do little children who die while yet little children perish? If not, when and why would their names be in the book of life?

Because in Revelation 20;15, And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

People pridefully add to scripture, making it to no effect by their traditions.

We are not prophets, we are not inspired, we can only interpret and explain the inspired word. Some people who do not see what they like, seek to alter God's word to make it more palatable to them.

Question, when are the names of babies and toddlers written in the Lamb's book? Answer already given, when God transfers them spiritually into Christ after crediting their faith as righteousness. Implication, babies and toddlers do not enter heaven because they have not even had a chance to believe.

Those unwilling to accept this implication, seek to add to scripture a solution of their own creation.

Just for fun, here is a question for those claiming the right to rewrite scripture: Does scripture say babies and toddlers, who have done nothing right or wrong are sent to Hades? And if they were not sent to Hades, does Revelation 20 say they are tossed into the Lake of Fire?

The OP lays out the scriptural lock as to when names are written in the Lamb's book of life. No need to rewrite scripture.

Every person whom God chose before the foundation of the world and gave to Christ to be their Surety and to die for their sins(including Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden - Romans 5:12), their sins being imputed to Him, and His perfect righteousness imputed to them, will be saved. The Holy Spirit will regenerate them, grant them the gifts of faith in Christ and repentance of dead works, and God will preserve them (Jude 1:24-25). Age, young or old, is not a consideration, as salvation is 100% a work of God’s power and 0% a work of man, who has no power.

God has chosen whom He will save for His purposes and glory. We have no power to save others, we have no power to even save ourselves.

And that's on period.

Once again an obviously false claim is made. Scripture says that once we were not a people, once we had not received mercy, once we were children of wrath. Therefore, scripture precludes that individuals were chosen for salvation before they were created. Thus when God chose His Redeemer, individually before the foundation of the world, He chose corporately those His redeemer would redeem, He chose us in Him, He chose those to be redeemed corporately when He chose Christ.

With this obvious truth in mind, that is why names have been written in the Lamb's book of life since and not before the foundation of the world.
Everything fits because the interpretation agrees with all scripture.

God is eternal. We humans live on this earth in linear time. God does not change His mind toward people. Salvation is 100% the work of God. Salvation is 0% based on man or any of his thoughts, words, or actions.

Basing salvation to even the least little bit on man is a failed gospel, really no gospel at all (Galatians 1:6-9), in which there is no salvation.

Here we have the usual change the subject post from the deniers of truth.
Did anyone say we save ourselves by putting our faith in Christ? Nope, God decides whom He will save.
Does John 3:16 say everyone believing into Him will not perish but have everlasting life? Yes. Our belief does not save us, only when God chooses to credit our faith as righteousness, does He alone save us by transferring us spiritually into Christ. Once we have been given to Christ, we are saved forever.

It is the perfect righteousness of Christ that is imputed (credited, charged) to God's elect. If it was the faith of the elect that was imputed (credited, charged) to them, then it would be their faith that had a part in saving them. And that can never be. Salvation is 100% the work of God. Salvation is 0% based on man or any of his thoughts (including faith in Christ's finished work), words, or actions (including repentance of dead works). Both faith in Christ's finished work and repentance of dead works are gifts given after the Holy Spirit regenerates God's elect, in linear time, and gives them spiritual life.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

"Him being made sin" are the all of the sins of God's elect having been imputed (credited, charged) to Christ; "made the righteousness of God in Him" is Christ's perfect righteousness having been imputed (credited, charged) to God's elect.

Footnote to thread

The appeal to "time" is a nullification tool. By claiming sequential time does not exist in the spiritual realm, folks can nullify the sequence given in scripture, and say the sequence actually put the cart before the horse. But since people ask "how long must they wait" while in the spiritual realm, the biblical evidence is that things happen in linear sequence, just as in our physical realm.

For example, scripture says we were chosen for salvation through faith, i.e. our faith was utilized in our election, thus our faith existed before we were chosen. So the nullifiers, say we were chosen then given faith because God operates "outside" of time. I kid you not...

Yet another off topic change of subject copy and paste post to "flood the zone" and hide truth.
Just read Romans 4 if you think God does not credit, reckon, declare our faith as righteousness or not.

God treated Christ as sin for us, but He was without sin on the cross, the perfect sacrifice.

Yes, God imputed all of the sins of all of God's elect to Christ (He was not made a sinner) and He paid the total penalty for their sin debt. Therefore, anyone for whom Christ died will be saved, as God cannot demand payment twice for the same sin debt.

Before the foundation of the world.

All of God's elect were chosen and given to Christ (in Him) before the foundation of the world. It's right there in God's Word.

Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world.

Not at issue.

Revelation 3:5, He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Here is a question, how do the names which are blotted out in the book?
