Well they have changed it

China allows three children in major policy shift

I was surprised to read about that a couple weeks ago. At first they okayed 2 children but it wasn't get much traction so they went to 3. Glad to be free and not needing their permission either way.

They realized that their policies have caused a massive demographic shift. India, one of China's rivals, will surpass China as the most populous country soon. China is trying to catch up.

Less baby murder is always good.
