Maybe they are just angry that you had their full support in going after Bin Laden...but did a 180 to go find Hussein, who was just a scraggly bum in a hole in the ground.

Don't take this the wrong way though...not EVERYBODY hates you. Some people don't care...some people are angry and feel you think you are better than everyone and push your ideologies on how other countries should be run...when your country isn't even the way it used to be...and you all admit that. This all proves exasperating to many people.

I think most of the world wishes their country's could be like yours USED to be. I know I wish mine was....with the socialized medicine so everyone is guaranteed treatment of course.

I will say though that freedom is not the norm in this world and it has many enemies, those that wish to bring us back under their submission hate America because we were founded as one nation under God and not one nation under men.

No matter how you interpret Romans 13 you must remember that we the people are the sovereigns and not the folks we vote for and put into office, these "officials" are not our masters they are our servants. So when preachers tell you that you must submit to government because it is ordained of God they speak the truth, but most will leave out the part where we the people are the true and only government in these United States. We are under the submission of no one but God. That's what self rule means as far as I can figure. They will try and convince you that the government of the United States is a group of people in Washinton DC that has God given authority over us. This places our public servants ahead of their masters the sovereign people of the United States in the chain of command and it simply doesn't wash in light of our founding documents.

In other words, our founding fathers understood that governments were ordained of God and placed the people by compact and constitution in the highest seat of worldly government and cut out the middleman. (Those that have always thought of us as chattel, the old world order)

But your idea of government eventually results in what you have now. You the people are the government...and you the people have to realize that not everyone thinks the same way.

I don't think the problem is people hating your freedom. It's people of one ideology trying to infringe on the rights of everyone else, that is looked at with disdain. And here's the kicker...people of EACH ideology try to do it to the others.

Of course it does now that most Americans have accepted the ideals of collectivism. America was founded on the idea of individualism.

That's correct we the people are the government, the people that think differently are preachers and politicians. The preachers (not all) do not take into account of how and why our nation was founded as it was and the politicians, well they would rather be our masters than servants.

I do. I think our freedom has always struck a nerve with the old world order. They have always thought of themselves as superior beings with the rights to rule over others. George Washington and the American minutemen whipped their armies on the battlefield and tried to toss them out of our newly founded nation under God. The problem was and is that they never left. They went underground and continued to carry out the assault on our freedom.

That's the genious of the dialectic. Opposing ideologies are introduced into society for just that reason.

Thesis + Antithesis = Synthesis, in this case the synthesis will be the NWO which is just the OWO with new toys. They still hate our freedom after all these years. Only now they own most channels of communications and both major political parties in America through infiltration.

What makes the world hate America are several reasons

1)America's gawdawful ignorance of the rest of the world
2) America's tendency to interfere not necessarily for democracy but for self-interest
3) America's tendency to claim credit BEYOND what they are due. Not that America hasnt done some great things it has.
4) America's willingness to lie cheat, shoot, steal whatever they want
5) America's tendency to treat other countries like crap

Those basically are the reasons

Presumably the world at large might have a number different possibly contradictory reasons to like/dislike the USA.
So I'll stick to describing the troubles in the relationship between the USA and my own country.
The Netherlands was the first country on earth to recognize the USA as an independant sovereign nation. And on officially the relationship has been very friendly ever since. Unofficially...
The Ann Coulter of the 19th century (better known as Washington Irving) did ofcourse besmirch the Dutch national character in his Knickerbocker's history of New York, but nobody around here noticed that at the time.
The person who started anti-americanism in the Netherlands was the author Menno ter Braak. Ofcourse in his case it was simply elitist disdain for mass culture in general and not a true dislike for anything specifically American.
True Dutch anti-americanism might have had it's start in the early 1960's when Kennedy ensured the loss of New-Guinea, which was the last large chunk of the former Dutch colonial empire. Than there was Vietnam ofcourse and the actions of the CIA in South-America.
Still this only meant that people around here became more and more interested in who the next POTUS was going to be....

In the US president Ronnie is generally seen as the greatest thing since sliced bread, but overhere he is perceived as shallow, not very bright and completely underestimating the hazards of nuclear warfare.
On top of that there was the almost complete infiltration by the Communist regimes spy-networks of the European leftwing activists*. It's amazing how many otherwise (somewhat) sensible people thought that the Capitalist side was at least as bad as the Communist side.
There also was a growing suspicion among those in Western-Europe who ought to have been in the know about such things that the US and the USSR would spare eachother in the event of WWIII and only deploy their nukes on eachothers European allies.
The situation arose where prominent European politicians arranged for nuclear missiles to be placed in Europe so they could have the Russian countryside blasted, while opposed by the European peacemovement who blamed the US and especially that 'fool' Reagan for the new nukes.

*The greatest irony of the cold war must be that the Stasi (the DDR's CIA/FBI) during the 80's almost took over the largest Christian peace organisation in the Netherlands (the IKV). Turning 2 of it's most prominent members into Stasi agents by promising them both to make them the next leader of the movement.
Meanwhile the person who actually headed the IKV, one Mient Jan Faber, is listed in the Stasi archives time and time again as the most dangerous adversary the Stasi has. In their eyes Reagan, JPII, Thatcher and reallife versions of James Bond were apparently less dangerous than an unassuming mathematician turned political activist .
The 3 biggest accomplishments of Mient?
-Getting half a million people to show up for a protest march for a cause the Communists actually supported.
-Helping (a little) in getting a couple of small disarmament movement of the ground in the Warsaw Pact countries that weren't fronts for the local Communist parties.
-Making the beautiful female Stasi honey trap who was send to seduce him into joining the Communist side join his side instead.

I think the answer to my question is when
American, with the plan to liberate Iraq

Fast forward to 11 september 2001. Recently elected POTUS Bush is at that moment not truly popular in the Netherlands. Most of the voters around here probably would have voted Gore instead. Not that Al ever was all that popular overhere, but he is boring (which is seen as a good quality in a politician overhere) and he is more liberal than Bush who has been described as slightly to the right of Atilla the Hun in the Dutch press.
After his election bush and his team have made some minor diplomatic gaffes and they are opposing a couple of big treaties after those same treaties have been aggresively sold the rest worldby earlier US administrations.
But a golden opportunity had arisen that could have changed all of that.
