Yes, we should distinguish between the initial formation of our body, the fertilized egg, and imbuing it with an independent life force, our human spirit. And scripture also gives us the sequence, our human spirit is formed within our partially formed body.

Genesis describes how Adam was created, not babies. I have heard this recently from some liberal who was advocating for killing babies.
But Adam was formed without a mother. There is not a parallel.
God said that the life is in the blood. If it has blood, it has God given life.
God didn’t say the life of the flesh is in the breath.

Would to God that every Bible question was this easy to answer by simply quoting a half sentence from God himself.Le 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood
Life of man is his human spirit, the soul. It is given by God and is eternal.
So, if the child has blood, it has life or either God is a liar and the aborter is not a murderer and those who supports his deed is not a murderer as well.
Who will not enter into the kingdom of God? Do we know? Can we tell?
