Still, no one has answered:
1. what does "uncleanness" mean in Gal 5:19 and wouldn't we use the Bible's definition for that word? If not, why not?
2. Why did the apostles keep the sabbath and keep making sacrifices to God many years after Jesus was dead, buried, and risen? Did they not know that they no longer had to do this?
3. Why did Jesus say "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:" if he was referring to something that is still in the future? Do we (as Christians) have to pray that our flight be not on the sabbath day?
4. Each law in the Old Testament had a penalty for breaking it. Will the Christian now be able to break that law without suffering the penalty? (Can a Christian keep farming the same plot a land with out giving it rest and still have good crops year after year?) I think a Christian would be a fool not to keep this one. (He will have bad crops and soon, no crops.)
There are many other points that I gave and are left unanswered, but let us just start with these.
KJV Galatians 5:191. what does "uncleanness" mean in Gal 5:19 and wouldn't we use the Bible's definition for that word? If not, why not?
Paul went to the Jews in the synagogue on the Sabbath. It does not say that he “kept” the Sabbath but reasoned with them in the synagogue that Christ is the Messiah.2. Why did the apostles keep the sabbath and keep making sacrifices to God many years after Jesus was dead, buried, and risen? Did they not know that they no longer had to do this?
NO, Jesus is speaking to Jews, many of whom would be alive in 70AD when Titus would destroy the Temple (“And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh”) and kill the levitical priests, the scribes, the Pharisees and the Saducees and almost the entire population of Jerusalem.3. Why did Jesus say "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:" if he was referring to something that is still in the future? Do we (as Christians) have to pray that our flight be not on the sabbath day?
Of course its good advice it comes from God!4. Each law in the Old Testament had a penalty for breaking it. Will the Christian now be able to break that law without suffering the penalty? Ok, that sounds like a decent answer. For instance if one watches “X” (and many “R”) rated movies on TV one will in all probability defile the mind by gazing upon the uncleanness of unsanctified sex (sanctified sex being that which goes occurs between a married couple (one male, one female). [/QB]
Acts 21:26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.Paul went to the Jews in the synagogue on the Sabbath. It does not say that he “kept” the Sabbath but reasoned with them in the synagogue that Christ is the Messiah.
He ALMOST made a sacrifice in Acts 21 but did not.
Please provide chapter and verse where any of the apostles “Kept” the Sabbath or offered an animal sacrifice.

I hope that I haven't sounded like I was judging anyone. My purpose for even getting in this conversation is not to get someone to change thier belief. I am asking questions because I want answers. Not so I can corner people.Above all don't judge others for their exercise of the royal law of liberty. If they are not being led of the Spirit, God will take care of it.[/QB]
It is, end of the Jewish age. The last days were in the 1st century. Heb 1:1-23. It still looks to me that Mat 24:3-24 can be talking nothing but the end times.
Look up the Greek on world. Its age not world.3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
New Testament is full of these examples.4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Who is the you? He is speaking to His 1st century Disciples, not 21st century Israelies.9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Yep,(Was the gospel preached to all the world before 70AD?)
See Luke's account.15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand![]()
Notice vs. 17. The top of houses were used as rooms in the 1st century, not so today.17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Passed.(*Do you believe that there is coming a great tribulation, or do you believe it already came, and passed.)
Perhaps God intervened before the Roman armies killed every Christian Jew in the Roman Empire.22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:
(What can that possibly mean if that had already happened?)
History and scripture record these events.23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
You are making divisions where the Bible does not. It treats the law as one complete whole unit. No divisions - you keep all of the law perfectly or you are guilty of breaking all of it.Originally posted by Helen:
It's rather simple. The Ten Commandments can be kept by individuals, apart from societal or cultural customs or political laws.
The laws given to the ancient Israelites for their theocracy cannot be. They require a political system built around them.
Therefore the theocratic laws are for the theocracy. The Ten Commandments are for all individuals.
That is the truth. I ask a question, get an answer, and at least 2 more questions come to mind because of that answer.Originally posted by Grasshopper:
