Where’s the Pork? (Nowhere)

KenH-Post #25 said:
“Hey, if repeating that falsehood helps conservatives to feel better, Dragoon68, then I don't see any harm in them doing so. It makes them look quite silly but considering the licking that conservatives have taken in the past two elections I can understand why.”

And again in post #37, he said:
“The falsehood that conservatives are spreading about their being so much pork in this bill was totally discredited on page 3 when I debunked the list in a link provided by rbell.”

Again in post #46:
“Actually, it's your side that needs to stop spreading falsehoods about the bill.”

In post #57, JustChristian, in effect, implies OLDREG is plotting overthrow:
“Are you plotting the overthrow of the U.S. government?”

Three occurrences of Ken calling conservatives liars and one occurrence where that paragon of the soft speak basically accuses another of plotting against the government. Ain’t it wonderful we have such calm and measured comments on the Board.

But analysis from the Center for Economic and Policy Research shows that programs criticized by conservatives on TV or in a letter they sent to the media total just $19.5 billion—less than 2 percent of the total package. So even if these complaints were legitimate, they’re small potatoes.

Heh!:applause: Heh! :applause: Heh! :applause: We have a Senator Chuck Schumer on the Forum and this one is from, Ark-Kansas. How fortunate we are!!

I thought the democrats, radical leftists, homosexuals, abortionists, and spineless independents did it last November. The Republic is dead. The evil emperor [O'bama] and Darth Vader [Rom Emanul] have taken over.

One of the evil emperors campaign promises was to establish a national police answerable to him, sort of like Hitler's Gestapo.

Of course this will be ignored by some, but...

Here's a "pork report" from the Washington Post...hardly a "right-wing" publication:

SOURCE

From the article:

Democrats removed GOP language added in the Senate that would have barred the use of stimulus funds for stadiums, community parks, art centers, museums and highway beautification. The bill does forbid localities from using stimulus funds for casinos, aquariums, zoos, golf courses and swimming pools, but the federal government is not bound by the rule.

So...they can take my money at the point of a gun, and spend it on golf courses. That, my friends, is socialism in action. Welcome to 21st-century America...where your money isn't yours, but belongs to the "public," for golf courses and casinos. But, of course...without our spending money on such "necessities," our world will collapse and we will all starve.

Now...see what happens when you make that fundamental shift in thinking from, "It's my money, and there is a certain amount that the government needs to make this society function," to, "My money belongs to the public...it's my job to ask me the government to give me what they think I need."

Folks, you won't like the second approach. Well...except for you that think it's OK to covet the possessions of others.

Welcome to the "Brave New America" so desired by the leftists; most of whom truly have no idea the devastation they wrought last Nov. Truly a pity cause by the time they realize it, it'll be too late.

McCain would be taking us down the same path, my friend.

Very true, but the atmosphere would be a whole lot more civil AND we wouldn't be going quite as fast.

Hopefully a bit more time to reverse the liberal leanings; then again maybe not!

Perhaps you can point out the pork supposedly referenced in this article? I see the standard GOP allegations of pork but the only facts I see listed is the high-speed rail system. I don't call that pork and it will put people to work building it.

I see where is says the Democrats removed GOP language, however, they don't show where it's a problem since they didn't list anything which needed that language. As for your golf course, it says "The bill does forbid localities from using stimulus funds for casinos, aquariums, zoos, golf courses and swimming pools, ....

The only ones being uncivil are the McCain supporters (or should I say the right). So you saying the atmosphere would be more civil is another way of saying you would be happy... I'm not mad.
