Kathy, a CD with the KJV text and search capabilities goes for next to nothing at Walmart and other discount stores.

You can also download the Online Bible for free, but unless you have the latest system you have to download and install each module separately.

(Do a Google search for The Online Bible)

Aaron, you mean Bible Gateway? BTW...the story of Samson & Delilah is on A&E right now...it's called Mysteries of the Bible.

Online Bible is found at Online Bible Downloads

If you download the KJV, make sure you download the ASV and BBE for free as well.

(For a very modest price - $20 NASB; $5 NKJV - modern versions can be unlocked and downloaded as well.

Can I just say that the Samson story in Judges is one of the most interesting stories I've read in the Bible! I never really read much in the OT cuz I thought it was boring  But MAN! There is some GOOD STUFF in there! How stoopid can one be? I thank God for giving me the desire to learn more from His Word! *YEAH*

Seriously great reading in Judges. Start with the first one and you'll be amazed at what happens to a people left to themselves. "Every man did that which was right in his own eyes."

Even a bad government is better than no government. You can see why they all clamoured for a king after seeing how mucked up things were in those 300 years.

Something I found a couple days ago is Bible Database
You have to download the program then download which bible you want and there are maps etc. I haven't decided if I like it yet, mainly due to having to download everything separately. BTW, read ALL the instructions.

Kathy:

The OT indeed is absolutely essential to a proper understanding of NT theology. So much of OT symbolism was fulfilled in Christ, as He is the capstone of redemptive history, (It really is HIS STORY) which begins in Genesis.

Get yourself a good read through the Bible plan which reads from the OT and the NT each day.

Discipleship Journal has an excellent one year plan, downloadable in several formats, at
