"Since the San Francisco earthquake, many rumors have been current regarding statements I have made. Some have reported that while in Los Angeles, I claimed that I had predicted the San Francisco earthquake and fire, and that Los Angeles would be the next city to suffer. This is not true. The morning after the earthquake, I said no more than that 'the earthquakes will come; the floods will come;' and that the Lord's message to us is that we shall 'not establish ourselves in the wicked cities.'" (Life Sketches, p. 411)

(Bolding mine) I was wondering Bob why Adventist do not heed the Lord's message? There are quite a few Adventist churches established throughout San Francisco, as well as in many other wicked cities. Unless you guys believe San Francisco is no longer as Sodom and Gomorrah.

We are told that the cities need the Gospel - to minister the Gospel to the people in the cities but to locate our facilities like schools, hospitals, institutions outside the cities.

Bobryan, when the SDA starts a hospital is it with the intent that NO DRUGS will be given to patients?

Do SDA's use antibiotics and other drugs for things like high blood pressure or cholesterol?

Why the silence in response to my questions? :wavey:

Could it possibly be that you see that EGW forbidding drinking tea because it is a "drug" is a FALSE REVELATION?

Drugs and anesthesia are both used in hospitals - obviously - that includes drugs derived from opium.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opioid

But the wild equivocation that would use that as an "excuse" to use drugs for fun, to self-modify your own nervous system, because you simply think God does not care etc - violates 1Cor 3 and 6.

obviously.

Most people would not need Ellen White to explain this part to them. But the dangers of meat eating, of so-called "medicated cigarettes" used in the 19th century as a so-called treatment of various lung diseases, of drugs like caffeine ,of enclosing patients in dark rooms as a treatment for bronchitis and other diseases. Well that took a direct message from God to a prophet to correct in the 19th century state of medicine.

Bob

Where are you getting all of this?

My question is how is tea harmful to the soul as your false prophet claims?

How about a direct answer that doesn't pretend a different question?

So are you saying there are no Adventist churches or families established in any cities around this country or around the world?

Certainly not.

Just as I am not saying that "there are no Christians on the planet that might show dishonor to parents now and then".

But I still find the 5th commandment to be valid and binding on the saints - in true "Baptist Confession of Faith" section 19 fashion.

Do you deny any of her extra biblical false heretical "prophecies" or not?

You are "quoting you" again and each time you do that you are pretty much "dead wrong".

So nothing new when you do that.

Did I give some sort of sign that I thought that "this time" it is actually working for your argument?

I was hoping not to do that - if I did.

Bob

Ahhh "the facts" - I just love 'em.

Where are you getting all of this?

Caffeine is a drug - as it turns out.

My question is how is tea harmful to the soul
The part that we all just saw from "the facts above" are that drugs are not good "for the soul" unless you are going under the knife or in some other dire situation.

What is caffeine?

Caffeine is the most popular and widely used drug in the world. It is a substance found in the leaves, seeds or fruit of a number of plant species, such as coffee and tea plants.

Caffeine is a stimulant which acts on the central nervous system to speed up the messages to and from the brain.

What are the plants and where do they grow?

The amount of caffeine in tea and coffee can vary considerably and depends on the brand, the way that it is made, and the size of the cup or mug.
Effects of caffeine

The effects of any drug (including caffeine) vary from person to person. How caffeine affects a person depends on many things including their size, weight and health and also whether the person is used to taking it, and the amount they have taken. ..

There is no safe level of drug use. Use of any drug always carries some risk—even medications can produce unwanted side effects. It is important to be careful when taking any type of drug.
Short-term effects

Caffeine takes 5–30 minutes to circulate in the body after it has been consumed. Its effects will continue as long as it is in the blood, which is usually around 12 hours. Some short-term effects of caffeine are:

  • feeling more alert and active
  • need to urinate more frequently
  • rise in body temperature

  • increased heart rate
  • stimulation of the brain and nervous system.

...
Use of caffeine can have a number of disturbing physical effects on some people, such as:

  • anxiety
  • irritability
  • increased breathing and heart rates
  • restlessness, excitability, dizziness

  • headaches and lack of concentration
  • gastrointestinal pains
  • dehydration.
. Some effects of caffeine overdose include:

  • involuntary shaking (tremors)
  • nausea and vomiting
  • irregular or rapid heart rate

  • panic attack and confusion
  • seizure.

In small children, caffeine poisoning can be seen with much smaller doses, such as up to 1 gram of caffeine (equal to around 12 energy drinks).
Long-term effects

Moderate consumption (for example, up to 4 cups of coffee a day) of caffeine is unlikely to cause any long-term damage. However, heavier use of caffeine can have some serious effects including:

  • osteoporosis
  • high blood pressure and heart disease
  • heartburn
  • ulcers

  • severe insomnia
  • infertility
  • anxiety
  • depression.

So according to bobryan...

Something like tea which can have positive health effects is harmful to the soul because it isn't prescribed by a doctor...

Then it must follow that abortion is not harmful to the soul because it is prescribed by SDA doctors.

I did not write that - nor did Ellen White.

Your objection is with the facts themselves.

As you probably know by now.

My objection is to what the false prophet did write - that drinking tea is harmful to the soul.

You have not adequately explained just how that can be...

Tea can have positive health effects.

Tea does not alter one's senses as alcohol consumption can.

Tea is not harmful like the other drugs that you want to compare it to such as LSD. I still have to laugh at that particular ridiculous statement on your part.

Please explain exactly the harm that is done to the souls of a couple of ladies sitting down and having a cup of tea.

And you need to stop drinking the SDA Kool-Aid.

In 1902, she warned that the cities around the bay area of California would suffer disaster. She wrote this: "Not long hence, these cities will suffer under the judgment of God. San Francisco and Oakland are becoming as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Lord will visit them in wrath" (Evangelism, 403-404). [/FONT]

Those who heeded Ellen White’s warning left this area and avoided the earthquake of April 18, 1906, which devastated the cities mentioned!

The San Francisco earthquake of 1906 was a major earthquake that struck San Francisco and the coast of Northern California at 5:12 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 1906.[3] Devastating fires broke out in the city and lasted for several days. As a result of the quake and fires, about 3,000 people died[4] and over 80% of San Francisco was destroyed.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1906_San_Francisco_earthquake

The earthquake and resulting fire are remembered as one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the United States[5] alongside the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 and Hurricane Katrina in 2005.[6] The death toll from the earthquake and resulting fire is the greatest loss of life from a natural disaster in California's history.

Answer again is right.

I have given you an answer.

There were four other major earthquakes in that area in the three years preceding her idiotic prediction.

Another earthquake happened four year later.

WHAT A BIG SURPRISE.

How many different times are you going to post this same nonsense?

Ellen White is a false prophet.

There have been Sabbathkeepers aall the time before her.

Bible is enough and we don't need Ellen White.
