We have heard a lot about how one has faith. Calvinist state it is infused after regeneration and Arminians and other Non Calvinist simply accept what the Bible teaches.
Lets look at the facts:
1) Romans 10:17 So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.
2) The result of faith is salvation:
This is the message of faith that we proclaim: 9 if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 Now the Scripture says, No one who believes on Him will be put to shame, 12 for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, since the same Lord of all is rich to all who call on Him. 13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
3) Jesus said in Luke 7:50 And He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."
This verse supports Paul's teaching that faith is frist and salvation is second
4) Titus 3:5 defines Saved (salvation) as follows: He saved us not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit
As everyone can see before a person can believe they must hear the truth, repent, believe and then they are regenerated.
Benefactor,
I think you are missing the point brother. 2 Corinthians 4:4 is specifically addressing WHY people do not hear and believe. Faith COMES FROM hearing. The Lost cannot even hear the word, in order TO believe, because they are in bondage to the devil, and he keeps them blind. Christ must first free them, in order that they will believe and be saved.
This is even more clear from the preceding verse. Paul says that the Gospel is actually HID from the lost. Not because of some personal choice, he goes on to say (which they cannot even make, until Christ opens their eyes and ears and frees them), but because of Satan, who has them bound.
1Jn 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God
"has been born" is perfect passive. "Perfect" almost always refers to an action completed in the past, with ongoing ramifications. "Passive" means we did not participate: it was something done TO us.
Every person who is believing that Jesus is Christ, has been born of God. If you haven't been born of God, you have not, and cannot believe.
One last thing: would you quit calling me a Calvinist? For one thing, despite what some might think, Calvin was pretty much a supralapsarian. I am not. Second, I disagree with Calvin on a great many other things.
I don't call you Roman Catholic because you believe in free will, do I brother? Just call me "Christian", and if you just really need something to classify "my kind", you may call me "Reformed".
Thanks in Advance.
Here is a crude factual literal translation:
Verse 5 for not ourselves we proclaim but Christ Jesus Lord and ourselves slaves of you (the Christians at Corinth) on account of Jesus.
Verse 6 Because God says: Out of darkens light shines that shone in the hearts of us for enlightenment of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
The language is foreign to your position and does not speak to anything remotely as you claim. Everything in the verse is directed to the believer. All believers are indwelt and have this light, see verse 7 which further underscores this truth. To have this benefit one must first receive Christ a savior, Luke 7:50, Romans 3 and 10 etc.

NE does this. That means someone else (God) must be doing this through them.
