I'm in an IFB church, KJVO, freewill, pre-trib, so on and so forth.
It's rather awkward to be a believer in sovreignty- post-trib- person who won't pass out in a cold faint if the verse on the Christmas cards I got sent came from the NIV -person there. LOL
Don't ask why I'm somewhere where the beliefs differ, I don't know myself. Well, I do, but it's a long story.
It IS an excellent church with great people and a love for Christ and others and it's really hard to explain just how awesome it is even with the frustration I have with the disagreement. Plus it's the only church I've ever been to where we can have 20 people singing and it sounds like a hundred. :D

IFB.

It's great to see so many IFB on the board. I thought we were the minority, but I guess not!!!

I heard of a young pastor making a visit to one of his elderly men. "PawPaw! If you weren't Southern Baptist what would you be?! PawPaw thinks for a minute and then says, "Preacher! If I weren't Southern Baptist--why--I'd just be plumb ashamed!"

SBC to the core!

old-fashioned independent Baptist. The kind the wonderful Reverend Dr. Bob would run from. :)

And what's all this "leaning toward reformed" business?

This is my first message board in your website.
I hope I enjoy it here!
I am Southern Baptist,2nd
Child of the Lion of Judah, 1st
I believe in KJV and that the WORD of God is Jesus
and above all men & churches.
It is that much a stronghold for us.
It is not about denominations, but who follows the TRUTH which is in Christ, and He is GOD,and the Holy Spirit /3 person= 1 God, never unseperated. <>< Praying for many fish in the net!!

1. Started out Southern Baptist (something close to fundamentalist)
2. Became Southern Baptist (FUNDAMENTALIST, with "proper" SBC political views)
3. Became Southern Baptist (fundamentalist, heavily leaning toward Reformed theology, noticing that the "proper" SBC political views had little to do with truth and much more to do with power grabs)
4. Became Southern Baptist (fundamentalist, rejected Reformed theology because of its inherent flaws, rejected the so-called "conservative resurgence" of the SBC because of witnessing that ungodly witch-hunt of people I know)
5. Became Texas Baptist (BGCT) after the SBC started its campaign of changing the Baptist Faith and Message into an unbiblical confession (1998) and then heretical confession (2000 edition).
6. Stayed Texas Baptist but realized recently that my personal theology which has grown from careful study of the Bible could possibly be a very similar view to Open Theism. (I just heard about Open Theism a few months ago when I came across an article where some of the SBC hotshots were criticizing it. I was ready to condemn the heresy too, but couldn't figure out what the problem was. I'm reading up on Open Theism now to make sure I understand it before I identify myself that way.

How's that for a long answer that will probably tick off everyone?
