I use an ESV for my personal study...preach out of ESV or HCSB most of the time, but will sometimes use NASB, NKJV or KJV also.
I willl also use the NLT or Message to help emphasize a truth in a message also.

Historically (I'm pushing 50, I can say that), I use the NASB. BUT I'm using the ESV off and on. It's hard to pick it up as opposed to the NASB for personal reading though.

You misspelled "hysterically."

 j/k

As for lil' ol' me...I use (in order of time spent in each version):

1. NIV
2. NKJV
3. KJV (that's what's in 'long-term storage' in my cranial computer).
4. ASV
5. NLT

I use the NASB in the pulpit, but Holman for my personal study. But I read through the Bible in a different translation every year because it keeps me fresh.

I use the KJV. Sometimes I use my King James Study Bible, but mostly I use the KJV.

I use the KJV because when I was first saved I attened a KJVO chruch.

The only problem I have with using different versions is that I get confused when someone is reading aloud / preaching from a different version than what I am using. I lose my my place when what is being read is different than what I am looking at in my bible.

Why does this poll say...
"Multiple Choice Poll. Voters: 37. You have already voted on this poll"

...and yet the total count of votes appears to be 88?

It looks like the percentages are based off of the 37 number so all of the percentages are off.

Rufus, mine doesn't say that...

I preach and teach from the KJV...
When I am dealing with youth, I may back that up with the NLT..

When I am not preaching, but attending another church I carry a parallel: KJV 1873, NIV, NLT, NASB

When just reading, I use my printed NET version..

But the one I use the most is e-sword...

Since the question was -- which one(s) do you use? I checked the ones that I use.

He's apparently coming out with new ones. (KJIII or something).

These all update the language, but not as muc as the NKJV.

I had exposure to one of the Catholic approved versions while growing up. Since the Catholics did not teach me correctly about the Bible, I prefer to read and study passages in depth through many versions and rely on the Holy Spirit for the truth. However, I do prefer the NIV because it is the easiest for me to understand.
