I get about 8 mpg in town. Not sure about hwy. But....its paid off.
Most people would be happy to get over 20. Why risk more debt to save a few sheckles on fuel?
You have to look at all the numbers. Back in '89 (?) I was driving a 10 MPG truck 100 miles a day. I saw a story on the Chev Metro getting better than 40 MPG. I went to the closest dealer and bought one on credit. Only thing I bought on credit in the last 40 years. The payments and increased insurance and new gas bill were less than my old gas costs.
