IF you had to choose between these 2 examples...
Assuming that one at least believes in TULIP, if not "full blown" Calvinism...

Would you chose to attend a Church like a Preysbeterian/reformed Church that held.taught calvinism, or else attend a Baptist Church that was stong in major doctrines, taught them as "baptist" but pastor/board was more in lin with 'Armenian/free Will?"

Neither I want them to teach Biblical truth. Before anyone says I am saying Calvanism isn't the truth I am not. By truth I mean do they teach Christ effacaious work on the Cross, do they teach eternal security, do they teach pre-trib, Pre-mil and so on. The doctrine of how one is elected is far down on the list and that is what Calvanism and Arminiamism deal with. Preach Christ and Him crucified is the importanat doctrine that is the doctrine of Soteriology, if their off on that they are off.:jesus::godisgood:

I would choose a Presbyterian church over a Baptist church for its sound teaching on the doctrines of grace.

I would be satisfied with a church without a name at all if it would just preach and teach the whole word of God. By the way I have been praying for one for this area for over 20 years.

One that teaches you have an Old Sin Nture and are saved by Grace, and eternally secure, right?

If I could just find one that taught even those things at least I could disagre with the teaching, (not with grace and security) but the churches in this area preach the same message every week with different words and teach little to nothing else. We have Lot's of laughs because lots of jokes.

How bout a Reformed Baptist Church? Hmmmmm:love2:

Precisely...

The assumption of many here on the board is that there is no such thing. They are, of course, wrong.

Sojourn is Reformed in doctrine, emerging in culture, evangelistic in methodology, and gospel centered in everything. Probably unrecognizable to many traditional Baptists, but we are indeed Baptist to the core, but there is more to "Baptist" than tradition, or at least that is what many argue, right?

Interesting.... My pastor mentioned Sojourn in passing the other day..... like he wants to use that as the model. We are growing by the way! Lots of young 20 somethings coming in....hungry for the Word. Yay!

Cool. But it takes 15 years to load your website. lol

Th one that teaches and preaches:

(Eph 2:8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

(Eph 2:9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.

As a parent I would like to choose a presbyterian church just so I can have them sprinkled now to guarantee their regeneration. Unfortunately this little matter of truth is keeping me from doing something much more convenient.

Presbyterians don't believe that.

From the Westminster Confession of Faith:

"Although it be a great sin to contemn or neglect this ordinance, yet grace and salvation are not so inseparably annexed unto it as that no person can be regenerated or saved without it, or that all that are baptized are undoubtedly regenerated."
