In case anyone doesn't see why the Texas shrines are included, the Texas Revolution is seen by leftists as a war in support of slavery, as Mexico had made it illegal and many new settlers in Texas brought in slaves anyway.

How about this one? A 16 foot statue of Lenin in Fremont Square Seattle.

A 16 foot statue of Lenin in Freemont Square Seattle.
A handful of self-described supporters of President Donald Trump converged on Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood Wednesday to call for the removal of a statue of Russian Communist revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin that has stood in the neighborhood for 22 years.

Protesters Wednesday wore Make America Great Again hats and held signs that said “Lenin = Hitler,” “100 Million Dead” and “Alt-Left Hate,” and they chanted slogans such as “Shame on Seattle,” “Tear hate down,” and “Genocide is not a joke” at passing cars and people grabbing lunch in the arty, tech-heavy neighborhood. Fremont is home to offices of such tech companies as Google, Adobe, Tableau, Outreach and Pixvana.

The protest comes in response to violence in Charlottesville, Va., last weekend during a rally around a statue there of Civil War Gen. Robert E. Lee, and the subsequent removal of Confederate statues in other cities.

Trump supporters converge on Seattle’s Lenin statue, shout ‘tear it down’ and debate passersby

You forgot one other thing - all cemeteries where Confederate soldiers are buried.

Yeah, but digging a little deeper, this is a privately owned statue not some government sanctioned monument. It was an odd story to read about though. The proprietor seemed to enjoy the thought of using the statue as a symbol of free Enterprise as a restauarant attraction in a twist of irony. Still ill advised if you aske me.

Well, for one thing it says a lot about Seattle.

Actually Washington has a very wide scope politically.

Mostly a blue state but pockets of red outside of King (Seattle) and Pierce (Tacoma) counties.

Washington State will have to rename themselves, no?

I think that the statues of Lincoln have to go, also. He was not really an abolitionist. Also, Harriet Beecher Stowe's books will have to be burned--she admired Uncle Tom (no wonder Lincoln accused her of starting the first Civil War).

I just happen to think - what if it were a statue of Hitler?

My point - even though it were on private land (in the middle of public city limits and plainly visible) should government at some level forbid such statues of mass murderers?

Outrage comes and goes concerning this statue of Lenin and is mostly quite local.

For the most part it is not a political statement but one of in-your-face, I-couldn't-care-less Seattle style non-conformity (IMO).
