Romney, running for governor of Massachusetts:
"I will preserve and protect a woman's right to choose and am devoted and dedicated to honoring my word in that regard."

Romney, as governor of Massachusetts, signing into law a ban on assault weapons opposed by the NRA:
(They are)instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."

Romney, as governor of Massachusetts, "The individual mandate in the state health care bill is not a tax."

The President is not the only person running for office who will have trouble running on his record.

Words, mainly, No action. Nothing to demonstrate that this is anything more than political expediency. Same thing the Republicans went after Kerry about.

There are no good answers to this dilemma that we the people created, no good choice at this late date. It is a matter of comparison of degrees of less harm. Lady Eagle, Targus, In the Light, and I argued for months about Romney during the primaries.

I was actually a delegate from our state to the Constitution Party National Convention back in April in Nashville. I believe Lady Eagle was in the past. What I found was that the party is totally disorganized and lacking the motivation to make a change. There were suppose to be six delegates from our state. I was the only one that showed up. In addition, the ones that did show up seemed more interested in socializing and party time than actual grass roots work. A man named Virgil Goode was nominated for President, a former VA Congressman. Although he has some good ideas, he is not a man who can capture the imagination of the American people. Upon returning home, I was so disillusioned, I went down the next week, rejoined the Republican Party and decided to vote for Romney despite his flaws.

I am not happy or excited about this, but this is the only chance, not a good one at that, of getting rid of Obama in November. The best we can hope for if Romney loses, is to turn the party around and nominate a decent candidate in 2016. If Romney does win, we can hold his feet to the fire and insist he run this nation by conservative values, and make sure we elect a Congress to help him see the light.

It is really too bad we have to choose a someone based on the other candidate being so bad. There have been elections in the past, for example, that someone might have actually liked both candidates, and chose the one with the better qualities. No doubt that that in past elections that voters liked the candidate that they did not vote for better than the one that they are going to vote for this time.

The time to do something about candidates is not at the end of the primary season. The time to do something is right after the last election. For example, the search for a decent 2016 candidate has to start right after the 2012 election, not in the summer of 2016. We cannot change the past.

There was a documentary four years ago on PBS that discussed John Kennedy running against John McCain. To show how far the Republicans have gone down hill, Kennedy's positions would have been to the right of McCain's.

If Romney does win, and does not change his core character, we will get thrashed in 2016, and have accomplished nothing. The best example I can think of for a conservative booting out a moderate liberal President is the election of 1980, when Reagan sent Carter home. That was probably the last conservative we have nominated.

Pretty much sums it up. And this is why I keep telling people who say that he is a "moral man" and they can look past his worshiping a false god that his deception goes hand in hand with the deception of the one he TRULY worships.

Absolutely correct. But Christians have got to stop helping to send the country to hades in a handbasket and then wondering why things are so bad.

The GOP keeps putting up losers as their candidates. Romney will lose just like McCain lost.

Why? Because the GOP keeps running lite-weights who just aren't exciting the base. When you feel like you're settling, expect to get yur but kicked in the general election.

Not that I plan to vote for Romney, but you zero heads should be quiet about flip-floppers. That is, until the wars are over, the patriot act is done away with, and Gitmo is closed.

Since the beginning of his campaign for president, I'd like to see a detailed list of what Romney has flip-flopped on.

Then we can compare to Obama's list, a few of which Bro. Curtis has already mentioned.

Here we go:

"Romney urges changes to stem cell bill Adds amendment to prohibit cloning
By and Scott Greenberger
Globe Staff / May 12, 2005

Governor Mitt Romney said yesterday that he will reject the Legislature's bill supporting stem cell research, urging lawmakers to rewrite the measure to prohibit scientists from cloning and to remove a passage that redefines when life begins."

Back in 2008:

"The doctor known as the founder of the pro-life movement has endorsed former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in his bid for the Republican presidential nomination...

" “Unlike other candidates who only speak to the importance of confronting the major social issues of the day, Governor Romney has a record of action in defending life,” Dr. Willke said. “Every decision he made as governor was on the side of life. I know he will be the strong pro-life president we need in the White House, Governor Romney is the only candidate who can lead our pro-life and pro-family conservative movement to victory in 2008.”...

http://aboutmittromney.com/pro-life-endorsements.htm#statements

An Open Letter Regarding Governor Mitt Romney (January 11, 2007):

“As you know, Mitt Romney became the governor of our state in 2003. Since that time, we have worked closely with him...

“Some press accounts and bloggers have described Governor Romney in terms we neither have observed nor can we accept. To the contrary, we, who have been fighting here for the values you also hold, are indebted to him and his responsive staff in demonstrating solid social conservative credentials by undertaking the following actions here in Massachusetts:

“Staunchly defended traditional marriage. ...

“Fought for abstinence education. In 2006, under Governor Romney's leadership, Massachusetts' public schools began to offer a classroom program on abstinence from the faith-based Boston group Healthy Futures to middle school students. Promoting the program, Governor Romney stated, "I've never had anyone complain to me that their kids are not learning enough about sex in school. However, a number of people have asked me why it is that we do not speak more about abstinence as a safe and preventative health practice."

“Affirmed the culture of life. Governor Romney has vetoed bills to provide access to the so-called "morning-after pill," which is an abortifacient, as well as a bill providing for expansive, embryo-destroying stem cell research. He vetoed the latter bill in 2005 because he could not "in good conscience allow this bill to become law." ...

“All of this may explain why John J. Miller, the national political reporter of National Review, has written that "a good case can be made that Romney has fought harder for social conservatives than any other governor in America, and it is difficult to imagine his doing so in a more daunting political environment."

“We are aware of the 1994 comments of Senate candidate Romney, which have been the subject of much recent discussion... they do not dovetail with the actions of Governor Romney from 2003 until now - and those actions have positively and demonstrably impacted the social climate of Massachusetts.

“Since well before 2003, we have been laboring in the trenches of Massachusetts, fighting for the family values you and we share. It is difficult work indeed - not for the faint of heart. In this challenging environment, Governor Romney has proven that he shares our values, as well as our determination to protect them.

“For four years, Governor Romney has been right there beside us, providing leadership on key issues - whether it was politically expedient to do so or not. He has stood on principle, and we have benefited greatly from having him with us.

“It is clear that Governor Romney has learned much since 1994 - to the benefit of our movement and our Commonwealth. In fact, the entire nation has benefited from his socially conservative, pro-family actions in office. As we explained earlier, his leadership on the marriage issue helped prevent our nation from being plunged into even worse legal turmoil following the court decision that forced "gay marriage" upon our Commonwealth.

“For that our country ought to be thankful. We certainly are.”

Sincerely,

 What candidate makes it a point to flip flop DURING a campaign? I for one never intended to vote for the anti-Christ Obama so I don't particularly care what he flip flopped on.

I would have liked to vote for a Christ-loving true conservative who over the long haul has shown conviction. That would not be Romney.

Lady Eagle's post is pretty interesting, and it actually proves the political expediency charge, if, in fact, everything she has posted is authentic. I'm not sure whether that would make him an etch-a-sketch President or a weather vane President, but I sure hope it leads to his not being President. Kind of like Bush. Talked about being pro-life for the fourteen years he served in public office, yet when he left both executive positions, abortion was more legal and widespread than it was when he took office. That's what happens when your state supreme court justices and the ones you appoint to the federal Supreme Court are not pro-life.

Oh, where's the third party when you really need it?

I would rather have a Romney for president than a term of obama unleashed. We KNOW obama is pro-death and was for partial birth abortion (where they stick a scissors into the unborn baby's skull and suck out its brains while it is still in the womb) back when he was an Illinois senator.

We also know that through obamacare, he is furthering the abortion agenda, infringing on religious freedom. (which is all pretty sick, considering abortion is really black genocide since most abortions are performed for blacks, according to statistics).

And whether one believes in the "death panels" of obamacare or not, the fact is that abortion and end of life are both based on eugenics. In fact, the founder of Planned Parenthood (Margaret Sanger) was a proponent of eugenics.

We also know that obama has finally admitted that he is for same sex marriage and is seeking to destroy our military by doing away with the "don't ask, don't tell" policy and in fact, our military just hosted it's first coming out party for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders, under the new obama policy.

We also know that the obama administration DOJ is more corrupt than any DOJ in my lifetime - Fast and Furious, not prosecuting the Black Panthers for voter intimidation, and more. The present DOJ does not uphold the Rule of Law.

We also know that obama has no regard for the 3 separate branches of government because he circumvents Congress to push his agenda in spite of what the Constitution states.

We also know that obama has no business experience but is a great student of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, and that Mitt Romney has a proven track record of leadership, both in business, saving the Olympics, and as a Governor of a State.

Mitt Romney has given his own personal testimony about when he "saw the light about abortion." You can find it if you google.
