Lady Eagle's post is pretty interesting, and it actually proves the political expediency charge, if, in fact, everything she has posted is authentic. I'm not sure whether that would make him an etch-a-sketch President or a weather vane President, but I sure hope it leads to his not being President. Kind of like Bush. Talked about being pro-life for the fourteen years he served in public office, yet when he left both executive positions, abortion was more legal and widespread than it was when he took office. That's what happens when your state supreme court justices and the ones you appoint to the federal Supreme Court are not pro-life.

Oh, where's the third party when you really need it?

So, you gonna sit this one out?

Or vote for the known baby killer , Obama? Or vote for a no chance no name third party somebody, which is the same as a vote for Obama?

Yeah, don't vote for the baby killer. It's better to vote for the false god worshiper.

Now all we need is an atheist.

And it's worse because being in support of abortion or gay rights ain't gonna keep anyone out of heaven. Pointing folks to a false god will.

See here's the difference. Romney is not holding rallies or fundraisers for the Mormon faith. He's not pointing anyone to Mormonism.

Obama, however, is having fundraisers with the gays in Hollywood and fundraisers for Planned Parenthood. He is ACTIVELY RECRUITING for these causes.

Here's the difference. Christians aren't giving tacit approval of abortion and same sex anything. But they are putting their stamp of approval on worshiping false gods.

Obama, however, is having fundraisers with the gays in Hollywood and fundraisers for Planned Parenthood. He is ACTIVELY RECRUITING for these causes.

God can handle Obama. Why doesn't the church deal with what IT keeps doing to dishonor Christ.

Perhaps this sort of thing is why God says Judgment will begin with His house.

God can also handle Romney, can't He?

In the 1930's, a priest in Germany--his name starts with an N, but I can't recall what it is off the top of my head--saw problems with Hitler, and encouraged the churches to stand against him. The basic response was that the church shouldn't get involved in politics. His famous quote is something like: first they came for the communists, and I said nothing because I'm not a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I said nothing, because I'm not a Jew. Then they came for me, but there was no one left to speak for me....

This was said Martin Niemöller. He was not a priest, but a pastor. At first he supported the rise of Hitler, but saw what was happening and was one of the founding members of the Confessional Church. He was imprisoned in Sachsenhausen and Dachau concentration camps from 1937 to 1945. After the war he was one of the initiators of Stuttgart Declaration of Guilt. Later he became an avowed pacificist.

Here is the entire quote:

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Why a Christian can and should vote for a Mormon in 2012

Please read my new book...LINK

or

KINDLE

I called it..
"Why a Christian can and should vote for a Mormon in 2012"

I look at church history, world history, Scripture, and other Christian writers of the past, to build a case for such a statement. This is a culture issue, not salvation or worship. Christians have NEVER had a perfect candidate. Jobs is something that should be considered and I believe Romney can produce more jobs. But this is not the main issue to vote for any candidate.

Yep, CTB, thanks - this is a great reminder of what happens when we sit back in our self righteousness and do nothing.....

That's a pretty thinly veiled way of implying that those that take politics seriously, don't love Jesus. I'm sure that's not what you meant to imply. If it was, well....

Make sure your children thank you for that.

Agreed. But Jesus isn't running for president. Until He does, we have to put up with those who are.

He's not "acceptable." He's just a better option than what's currently in the position. As the saying goes, "the enemy of my enemy...."

So not voting is honoring Christ?

I'm reminded of Romans 13. Some may argue that the passage doesn't deal with our elected officials, but I would remind you that the government at that time was both political and religious (religious leaders were also political figures). The principle applies.

I'm not advocating for Romney. I'm advocating for getting Obama out of office, with a candidate that will, at the minimum, do less damage to our form of government. I wasn't happy with a lot of things George Bush did; but he was more of an advocate for individual freedoms (including religious freedoms) than the sitting president is. Unfortunately, none of the 3rd party candidates have a prayer of accomplishing that goal. And if I cast a vote, or don't cast a vote, that allows the current sitting president to continue to create policies that affect my children and grandchildren, then I can't say that I did all I could to protect them.

That's where I'm coming from; and attempts to cast doubts or aspersions about my Christianity because of that position are legalistic attempts to force me to fit into your own personal conception of what Christianity is. Thanks, but I'll continue to exercise my personal and religious freedoms instead.

Great post, Don! Bingo!

Whoa! Wait a minute.

Not voting for a candidate that opposes abortion and gay rights (Romney), which is the equivalent of increasing the vote differential for Obama between Obama and Romney, is NOT giving tacit approval for these things? It's the very definition of tacit approval!

Please. That's why I'm not voting for either one.

Why on earth would I vote for either one of the anti-Christ as though one is better than the other.

So, don't, Zaac. Vote for Mickey Mouse. But don't come on here and condescend to those of us who believe in our hearts that it is correct to vote for Mitt Romney as the only viable choice against obama as a last ditch effort to save this country that our forefathers bled, died, and sacrificed for.

You have your opinion and I have mine. We should be able to agree to disagree without put downs, thinly veiled attacks, and seeming questioning of our Christian values or witness. From what I have seen through the years, a Pharisaical approach does damage to the Body of Christ and causes wounds of the spirit, but a "soft answer turns away wrath."

We have differences of opinion about Mitt Romney. But bear in mind, we also have liberty because of Jesus Christ - and we must each vote according to our conscience, according to the Holy Spirit dwelling in each believer. There is only ONE Holy Spirit.

Let us remember this:

Romans 14:10-13 "You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written:

“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’”

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister." (NIV)

With this in mind, let us please get back on topic. The topic is not Romney's Mormonism. If you want to discuss Mormonism, please take it to the Other Religions forum. Thanks.

So, don't, Zaac.

I won't as i said I wouldn't.

Vote for Mickey Mouse.

But don't come on here and condescend to those of us who believe in our hearts that it is correct to vote for Mitt Romney as the only viable choice against obama as a last ditch effort to save this country that our forefathers bled, died, and sacrificed for.

You calling it condescension doesn't make it so. You believe in your heart that the false god worshiper is the only viable choice against Obama and a last ditch effort to save the country. I believe it's political expediency to make folks feel okay with voting for that which they have complained about as a cult for decades.

You've got your opinion and I've got mine so save the guilt trip.

And yall need to stop with this stupidness. So now you're gonna pull that card just because I disagree with people's reasoning. There was no thinly veiled anything and the only reason that's being brought up is because I'm in opposition to YOUR position.

I have every right to question what something is going to do to the Christian witness and if that steps on somebody's toes, big deal. It steps on mine that folks hypocritically denounce abortion but flock to the worship of a false god.

Like you said, you have your opinion and I have mine. The only ones trying to cause wounds of the spirit are those of you who continue to tell me I don't have a right to question how supporting a man who worships a false god will affect the Christian witness.

We have differences of opinion about Mitt Romney. But bear in mind, we also have liberty because of Jesus Christ - and we must each vote according to our conscience, according to the Holy Spirit dwelling in each believer. There is only ONE Holy Spirit.

And I haven't said any different. Y'all just all seem to be taking offense that I would dare point out that ain't no difference between the evil that is the anti-Christ Obama and the evil that is the anti-Christ Romney.

So if some want to feel good about supporting him, then do. But just as your conscience says its okay to support him, mine says its not.

Let us remember this:

Romans 14:10-13 "You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written:

“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’”

yes let us remember that the Scripture applies to ALL of us since some of you keep insisting that I'm being condescending and giving thinly veiled attacks.

If my comments contain thinly veiled attacks, then yours and others do also.

So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister." (NIV)

Then likewise conservative Christians need to stop questioning why liberal Christians support the other anti-Christ since we're gonna stop passing judgment on one another.

With this in mind, let us please get back on topic. The topic is not Romney's Mormonism. If you want to discuss Mormonism, please take it to the Other Religions forum. Thanks.

His foundation is in a lie. I want to know if the Romney who wants to govern the country can be trusted when his life and belief system is based in a lie?

Okay, that can't go by without a response. What false god am I worshipping?
