White Jesus Must End

Which is a testament to how little weight the Bible gives skin color. Isn't it interesting that we have no idea what shade of skin Jesus had? Or Moses or David for that matter. You'd think if race were important, we'd know.

Well, you can be assured they were not light skinned and blonde. As someone said earlier, they are a Semetic people, and most likely have a darker tone to their skin. You are correct however, with God race is not important and it is what is inside of people that really counts.

We are all descended from a thieving gardener and a drunken sea captain.

Jesus was not black African, he was what was considered to be white. The bible talks about Ethiopians being black and can not change their skin to be like white men (Israelite).

A description of a handsome Israelite person here.
Song of Solomon 5:11 New King James Version (NKJV)
11 His head is like the finest gold;
His locks are wavy,
And black as a raven.

An idealized Israelite had gold colored skin and black wavy hair. So lightly tanned.

Jeremiah 13:23
Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil.

You can not change the color of your skin is used to teach you can not do any good when your an evil person. It is part of your nature to be of one color and do bad things. Once your doing evil there is no relief for the wicked, no rest except by being delivered by Christ who create in you a new nature which is good *( born again spirit still inhabits a body though which is dead because of sin)

Abraham came from Ur of Caldes in Mesopotamia. We have an ancient tablet lamenting the demise of Ur. It was near Eridu, thought by some to be the site of the Tower of Babel. Israel is considered to be an oriental country--it is in the Middle East.

Yes, but we have a description of Him in the book of the Revelation. .

14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace;

I have always seen that description as Christ's glorified appearance and not His carnate appearance. If in the flesh, he had hair like wool, that would cause me to imagine an afro style.

Jesus wasn't white. If he had any genetic features from Mary, and I contend he didn't have either Mary or Joseph's genetic markers, then Jesus clearly had a black African gene code.

The artists rendering of Jesus are purely their cultural imagination.
No. He would have been Semite. Not black. Not African. Not white. Not European.

I believe he was of a Jewish race (and this was clear to the Jews). I say this because they identified Jesus as Jewish (racially).

We actually have no idea about his skin shade. Could have been very light or very dark. The irony is, the Bible writers didn't care to report on it. It was that much a non-issue.

Jesus had brothers, other sons of Mary. They would have looked similar. The Romans were involved and there is no record of Jews as being black or dark skinned , Rome treated black Africans differently than other white type races. Josephus and the Romans comes to mind as he was well respected by the Romans.

Thanks, that's informative. I don't doubt Jesus could have had light skin. The argument above shows at the very least it's possible, and therefore, utterly ridiculous to tear down white Jesus art.

My point is merely that skin color was not significant in the minds of the biblical authors.

Descriptions of Ethiopians in the classical world. The Jews would have been separate from the negroid race of Africa as they did not cone from there and were not described as Ethiopian Negroids as were described in Greek usage of the word Al0l4.

Diod. Sic. 3.8.2: The majority of them (i.e., Ethiopians), and especially those who dwell dong the rivers, are black-skinned (&s pb Xp6ais . . . piXaws), flat-nosed (m?s 61 1SCoi~ uipol) and woolly-haired (70% 64 ~pix&pactrv o~~oL).

I really don't care. I doubt Jesus was black, and also doubt he was mormon white. My guess is a middle brown like most creationists think Adam was.

That last line touches on the real point but needs to be more clearly emphasized. The issue is not a discussion about how to represent Jesus in artwork, as perspectives can vary. There is no interest in that, thus it doesn’t matter what we care about the nuance.

The issue is the existence of a hate-filled, racist movement to remove all traces of everything white. It’s anti-God, anti-Christ, anti-America, anti-Constitution and needs to be forcefully exposed and opposed. If it is not vigorously exposed and opposed now, then eventually it will have to be violently opposed.

The communists in China are going to rip out parts of the bible they do not like and make their own book. Socialists care not about God or men's souls, they are all about the here and now getting their agenda done on earth. Christ calls such fools that enrich themselves not acknowledging God.

13 Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
14 But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” 15 And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of [c]covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

16 Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. 17 And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ 18 So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’

20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’
21 “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

The Chinese Communist Party already tore up Buddhist temples in Tibet decades ago. They even went after Falun Gong in communistic China just because it became popular.
