Actually, what really got on my nerves was the thread in this forum called "White people with daughters", and the direction of it was if you would have trouble with your white daughter marrying a black man.

I realize this board is heavily white. So, I guess the direction couldn't be, what if your black daughter married a white man? Or, what if your vietnamese daugher married a white man.

There is prejudice from all sides. But I am not really sure why "your white daughter marrying a black man" is a bad thing, except that neither or only one is a Christian.

Christians should only marry Christians, so I can see what is wrong with a marriage if only one spouse is a Christian, but is the "neither" wrong - is it really wrong for a non-Christian to marry a non-Christian? If it is, then who do non-Christians marry? I think I must have misunderstood you.

To be fair, the overwhelming responses were as they should be. IMO, the OP was racist, and he came back and confirmed my suspicions later. But most folks have their head on straight. Keep yer chin up...

And generally, I agree with you that most responses were on track. Some weren't, and certainly, I am not even sure why the question even needed to be asked.

yes, it is wrong for a Christian to marry a Non-Christian. "Be ye seperate from the world" is a strong statement that we should not ignore.

Watch out, you are showing such good humor and common sense someone is going to call you a liberal.
"Common Sense" is not a liberal ingredient in modern liberalism.

A thread for annoyances?

People who were born in a country that for most of the last 70 years has provided the best working conditions and opportunity for advancement for the working class in the history of the world and complain that they are poor/low income because other people don't like them annoy me.

The most annoying of that set are the members who have boom boxes in their cars and drive around intentionally annoying other people. May they all go stone deaf.

The main problem is not race or color -- it is culture. If your son or daughter marries into a family that has strong family values -- that strongly supports the couple -- that has a life style where parents are responsible for children and where children are taught to honor and respect God, the Gospel, parents, authority, the government .. and they have a healthy desire to learn and excell in life -- then "it is all good".

However very often in marriages today (racially mixed or not) you find that such is not the case -- you find one side may be very strong on the values listed above and the other side not .. you may find that while both sets of families are strong on those values -- one or the other within that marriage is not committed to the way they have been raised.

The point is that those factors "are key" the color of skin is 'incidental'.

There. I said it.
I read every post on the thread that you say invoked this one of yours and not one post was racist or even negative.
It would seem the only person who has a problem with race is you.
People get on my nerves.
It doesn't matter what color they are.
But racists get on my nerves more.
