Whitehouse demands reporters allows them to edit quotes

According to a report in Politico, reporters are upset at the way the Biden White House gets to approve the quotes that they gather from sources in the White House. The practice is called, “background with quote approval.”

In other words, if a reporter talks to someone from the Biden administration, they are not allowed to quote them on the record unless they allow the Biden White House to tweak and edit it as they see fit. Why do this?

What if Trump had made such an anti-1A request? Of course, most of the MSM are all too happy to lick the Biden administration's boots, any help with the SJW narrative is always welcomed.

I can honestly say right now, I dont know any people of the LEFT. Everyone I know or talk to person to person voted for Trump. Well I do know of 1 person out of one hundred people who is a Sanders supporter.

The thing that I wonder about is the fact that some folks want to place Nazism (a/k/a National SOCIALISM) in diametric philosophic concepts to that of the Soviet Russian USSR ("Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics"). Seems to me that instead of considering both as diametrically opposite means of achieving the very same goals, the only difference IMHO is the means by which socialism is achieved... (NAZI: By forcibly unionizing each & every labor union in one's country.) Correct. In fact most corporations do this as well. They have a message they want to control and they keep that messaging consistent by not allowing rogue statements to be published. I have seen it in the jobs I have had in corporate America. I am sure the Trump Administration did the same thing.

oh no I fully believe Biden would do that not Trump he was to transparent and was not afraid to go toe to toe with the press on national tv. When libs are forced to admit their own did something they always try to say the other one did it too so as to minimize what their own us doing.

I don't know. The only time I heard of this quote editing thing was the article in the OP. AND the article in the OP stated that both Obama and Trump administrations took advantage of editing quotes before allowing them to be released.

If the article is false then it is false. If it is to be believed then I see no reason to believe it only when it comes to Biden.

I knew corporations did it, and to be honest I am not sure why it surprised me that those in public service did it as well. Everything is, after all, a PR campaign.

The article stated that the Trump administration (and the Obama administration) did the same thing, but not with the frequency we see with the Biden administration. But then again, with Trump, he was fond of twitter. Perhaps using more of a filter would have helped his administration.

The question, for me, is how on earth we can believe in a free press if public offices edit quotes. It's 1984.
