I was listening to Glenn Beck today - he was a bit upset because several local Christian Day Schools would not allow his kids to attend.
Beck stated he knew some of these pastors, and Beck said he was told since he was Mormon they would not allow his kids to attend.

So what are your thoughts about this?

Should attendees only be members of the church (or their parents)
How about a close relative, say a nephew or niece that does not live with the church member?
Should non-Christian families not be allowed to attend? (such as Catholic, JW, Mormon, 7DA, ect

If your church does not have Christian day school - what would you want the policy to be.

Open for discussion.

One of my first thoughts was security considered an issue ?
That is with Beck being well know, was the church concerned about the security of Becks Children, as well as all who attended?

Lots of schools have this policy. He just found a few of them. There are others that have you sign papers saying that you understand what your child will be taught when they come to the school of which religion they are not part.
I would say that he found the good ones because they don’t regard persons.
But I only know this small bit of the picture.

I find it strange that a Mormon would even want his children educated in a Christian school. Certainly I as a Christian would never for a moment even considered sending my children to a school run by Mormons or any other cult.

If I remember correctly, Beck stated something along the line of wanting his kids exposed to different beliefs. He only spent a moment on this, and I do not remember any caller commenting on this.

Thanks. That makes sense, even though I still find it hard to imagine a parent wanting his children to a school based on beliefs so different to his own. Perhaps his Mormon beliefs were not strong. Thanks again for explaining.

There is a similar situation with Catholic schools and any other private school. Many public schools allow children to move on in grades without learning how to read. Many parents find any private school to send their children to for the sake of reading alone. I am not saying that this is where Beck’s family is, but the mentality is widespread in our country that public schools don’t teach everything they need to effectively. It’s already widely accepted in America. Not socially acceptable to the people who are devoted to the school system. But it is acceptable to the people who are devoted to the education of their children.

Our requires one parent to be a professing Christian. It has to do wth the teachings. We teach the Bible and if those parents are opposing that, our teaching is being subverted.
