Who Caused the Cold War?

You have no clue. I am not talking about campaign contributions. I am talking about bribes. You don't even know what corruption is. You probably still think Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. You still don't even know Bush was lying.

"If I lived in the United States"? What, did you think I was from Mars because I am Against corruption?
No, you don’t have a clue. You haven’t given evidence of “corruption” or “bribes”. You just make vague accusations and demand people go to jail.

You literally advocated limiting who could run for office based on economic status. You literally advocated putting people in jail for receiving campaign contributions from “special interests”, not just bribes.

You are seeking to establish fascism and communism in the United Stated of America.

If our public school system hadn’t been so corrupted by left wing radicals over the passed 30 years, I would have believed your complete ignorance of how our political system of government works as evidence you could not possibly be from the U.S.

As it is, I guess it’s a possibility you are a U.S. citizen, just a poorly educated one spouting communist propaganda.

Peace to you

You are wrong on so many accounts. I would open the field to be President and Congress virtually to everyone. Now you get to choose from a very extremely limited pool of corrupt candidates and their Billionaire backers. Billionaires who tell their candidates to go to war and fight for their pocketbooks.

There are age limits on the lower end, filing deadlines and such to meet in order to have elections, but practically anyone can run for President. We don’t have a caste system. And just because our current President started the process of getting elected as a billionaire doesn’t mean they all do or must.
I’m fully aware that there are corrupt politicians. We have some locally who use Jesus’ name to support their deceptive agenda. But that doesn’t mean they are billionaires, or that all politicians are crooked.

We haven’t been called to root out the corruption of mankind. Jesus accomplishes that. Our job is to let people know that He does.
And if your hope is in politics, you will always be disappointed.

Have you not read the last book of the Bible? Do you not know in advance what direction things are going?

The political system is full of corruption. There are enough laws right now that are are ignored rather than enforced. That's one problem. The other problem is the candidates. It appears we are always in the position to chose who is the lesser of the two evils because neither political party cares about the people in this country. They care about staying in office first and foremost.

We could have regular citizens only run for Congress and president. Say if you made to much money you could not run . Say if you took money from special interest you would be put in jail. If you got paid even out of office for special interests you would go to jail. You could not take money for making a decision. No bribes. It also means billionaires could not run or contribute to the people running the government. But the billionaires would never surrender this .
In that statement you state the rich should not be eligible to run for Congress or POTUS. Special interest groups and corporations create PACs, they can use to make campaign contributions. They can give no more than $5,000 to a candidate.

They can also form Super PACs. Super PACs cannot give money directly to candidate campaigns. They must spend their money independently on ads, events, or political messaging. There is no limit here.
You are wrong on so many accounts. I would open the field to be President and Congress virtually to everyone.
In the statement above you contradict yourself about who can run. You said in the first statement I quoted, you said people who made too much money should be ineligible to run.

Bribes are illegal. To offer a bribe and to accept a bribe is a felony. When caught they should be charged and prosecuted.

Now I'd like to address your statement about Bush lying about Iraq's WMDs. I served in Military Intelligence and I want to clarify that what I'm about to write is unclassified. You can find what I'm about to post online. Trump didn't lie. Iran was Iraq's enemy. In 1980, Saddam launched a full-scale military attack on Iran. In 1982, Iranian troops forced Iraq out of Iran. From 1982 to 1987, it was a war of attrition where attacks on civilians were made and chemical weapons were used. In 1988, both countries agreed to a UN resolution ending the war with a ceasefire.

Saddam was afraid the ceasefire wouldn't last. He was afraid Iran would launch an attack on Iraq. Saddam wanted Iran to believe he still had WMDs. He refused to allow UN inspectors to do their job because he didn't want it found out he didn't have them, in fear Iran would attack. He even deceived his generals by telling them he still had them. All of this made the UN and the US believe he had them.

Saddam confessed all of this to MI interrogators before his execution.

Now back to corruption. There will always be corruption in government just as there will always be crime in this country. There's a saying, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." It's true in every organization.

The Jewish Billionaire Adelson gave Trump 100 million for his campaign. We are limited to what we can give. The National Rifle Association is limited to what it can give, but Adelson is not. I heard Trump himself praise her for giving him that. She expects Trump to say the West bank is Israel's in return .

As far as Iraq goes, the United Nations Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter said Iraq did not have them and had the documents to prove it. Joe Biden in a Senate hearing mocked him saying he doesn't get to make the decision whether the US goes to war or not. His aide admitted Biden knew Iraq didn't have weapons of mass destruction, but the Administration (Bushes) already made the decision to go to war. Scott Ritter as U.N. Inspector knew they didn't have them and preached to anyone that would listen including College Campuses . History has proven him correct.

Thanks for that:Rolleyes Biden’s credibility was marred directly out of the gate by his own mouth when he questioned the integrity of his own election to the senate. But you go right ahead and believe him. He couldn’t have any agenda, could he?
I’m not saying anyone or other is right in this post, just that you pick awful sources.

Joe Biden is a false witness. Has always been one. He sided with the Bush administration in their illegal war with Iraq (2). Of course he has lied about a lot more. Biden as chairman of the (I forget the name of the committee) could have held Bush up for a year, but chose to go along with Bush instead.

Miriam Adelson contributed over $100 million to Preserve America PAC in 2024. There's nothing illegal about that. In 2026, she gave $25 million to the super PAC MAGA. Nothing illegal about that either. You can give as much as you want to a PAC, but not directly to a candidate. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet and others make similar donations to PACs that support Democrats.

You're barking up the wrong tree.

Indeed, you proved my point.
My point is it's legal. The only way to change it is for Congress to pass legislation to do so and a president to sign it into law. That, term limits, and a balanced budget will never happen. Read the last chapter of the Bible.

I post this for everyone who doesn't know really know about the Eastern Front in the old Soviet Union. It shows what the world was like before the cold war and I believe, perhaps what led to it. Perhaps, maybe not. But it is real history nonetheless.

Scripture reference?
Hi Salty,

Democracy is the concept of member rule, rather than authoritarian rule. Thus all the scriptural references to the members voting and making choices as to how their lives are governed. Let us start with Deuteronomy 30:19:

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have placed before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,

Democracy arises from faith in God and His gospel. The dark side believes in rule by elitists. We believe in the priesthood of believers, with no oligarchy between individuals and God.

And note our New Testament model of evangelism. Christ trained His disciples. Then His disciples train others. Then the others train still others. And this is how the gospel message of the opportunity of salvation, rather than futility, is spread to all of humanity. I was discipled by another, we talked one to one as equals before God. I evaluated my gifts and chose how I could best serve Christ and minister within the body of Christ.

Ask yourself is choice, individual choice at the core of Christianity? My answer is yes. And it is supported over and over again in scripture.

Look at Romans 4:15?

Democracy is our model of group and member choice. Consider G5500, transliterated as "Cheirotoneo."

Here we have a compound word, literally meaning hand stretching. But the word is used to indicate taking a vote by a show of hands to select someone for something.

Acts 14:23, When they had appointed elders for them in every church, having prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed

Here, this rendering misses the information of how the elders were selected, i.e. by a show of hands, a vote of the members. A far more complete translation would read, When they had selected elders for them by a show of hands in every church, having prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

2 Corinthians 8:19 and not only this, but he has also been appointed by the churches to travel with us in this gracious work, which is being administered by us for the glory of the Lord Himself, and to show our readiness,

Again the vote is obliterated in the rendering, whereas a literal translation would read, “but he has also been selected by a show of hands by the churches….”

Word Studies bring to light where versions hit the mark and where they miss the mark.
The idea is not to quibble over this word or that word, but to bring the actual intended meaning to light so that we can grow more aware of God’s Word by doing objective and unbiased word studies.

The lexicon gives three meanings for our word:

  • to vote by stretching out the hand
  • to create or appoint by vote: one to have charge of some office or duty
  • to elect, create, appoint
