With great sadness I think you are correct. I am inclined to believe that we, the church, is in a great spiritual battle because we have turned our backs on the Lord (left our first love) and what we are seeing and what is coming is the result. This nations future is in the hands of the church and the church is thumbing its nose at its calling.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

And supporting that which is against God on EITHER side is not humbling ourselves.

What can be more evident than turning our backs on the Lord than evangelicals telling folks that one anti-Christ is a lesser evil than another anti-Christ?

Pretty much.
It is too late now, but it amazes me how much belly aching about McCain we heard here in 2008, and Bush in 2004. The Republicans learn nothing. They continue to degrade the party every four years with worse and worse candidates. This choice in 2012 is by far the worst, for two basic reasons, not believing in the diety of Christ, and his record as governor of Massachusetts.

It is very likely Romney will lose. Do you honestly think the Republicans will learn anything before 2016 and nominate a decent candidate? If by some slim chance Romney should win, my guess is that his moderate to liberal policies will continue, and will get clobbered in 2016.

My answer would be no as the republican party is just as corrupt as the democrats. The church has allowed this to happen and the nation will pay the price.

I don't. there seems to be this notion in the GOP that certain candidates have earned their shot and that's who is pushed into the nomination. The GOP deserves to lose.
