Pensacola Bible Institute, as Dr. Bob explained to me a while back. A KJV Only possible cult leader. Dr. Bob said the guy is a "self proclaimed whore monger." Weird.

Mr Ruckman or perhaps Bro Ruckman...well by their fruits....he represents the worse of the KJVO movement, indeed most KJVO's distance themselves from him...he believes in Advanced Revelation, meaning that the English of the AV1611 "corrects" the very languages the Bible was written in.
I'm not aware of the "whoremonger" title, but it is true that he has been divorced 2-3 times...he also is a race problems, calling Black folks by the "N" word, right in his publication. How do I know? About fifteen years ago I was KJVO and subscribed to his paper and read it myself (although I didn't believe the myth as far as he did).

He is Dr. Peter Ruckman of Pensacola, Fl. He's made the most outlandish KJVO claims of just about any of the published KJVO authors. An example of this is his claim that the KJV CORRECTS THE MSS FROM WHICH IT WAS MADE. This "pastor" has been married 3 times, divorced twice.

Here a URLs to his material:

And here's a URL giving some of his seedier comments and writings.

Absolutely, though even the most rabid Ruckmanite now tries to distance himself from the man.

But the "fruit" of Ruckman -- that the KJV today is absolutely perfect, the standard for judging any version, reinspired/preserved in special exact words in 1611, etc etc -- is very evident in the posts of a few on the BB.

In our definition, that would be a high #4 or #5 KJVO - most extreme. But beware, as with distancing themselves from Ruckman, they also use language that makes them APPEAR to not be as radical.

Check for:
Judging all Bibles by the man-made standard of the AV
Holding the unscriptural ONLY the AV is inspired position
Unwilling to admit ANY thing in the AV is less than "perfect"
Calling other translations "per-versions"

I have been alway for a while and it is sad to see that you guys are still slandering another Christian. Though I don't believe in everything that Dr. Ruckman does, I will still respect him as a Christian and as a person who stands on the word of God, without compromise.

Maybe one day one of you guys will have the nerve to speak with Dr. Ruckman personnelly.

Of course, while rubbing you fellas the wrong way, Dr. Ruckman has also been a Bible-Believing Baptist Preacher for more than 50 years.

He has personally started three independent Baptist Churches including the Bible Baptist Church of Pensacola, Florida, which he has pastored for more than thirty years.

Hundreds of men now pastoring all over the United States and around the world were called to preach under Dr. Ruckman’s ministry.

There are 61 missionaries on the foreign field right now who were personally trained at the Bible Baptist Church by Dr. Ruckman.

Bible Baptist Church has been winning souls and street preaching in Northwest Florida and South Alabama for more than thirty years.

Church members preach in rescue missions from New Orleans to Tallahassee as well as soul-winning visitation and participation in all the local parades as a witness to the lost folks here.

At the age of 82, Dr. Ruckman still pastors full-time and teaches a full course load at the Pensacola Bible Institute.

He also writes two or three books a year - His verse by verse commentary on the Gospel of John will be published by this summer.

While you take potshots and express your disdain for a brother in Christ, Dr. Ruckman and the congregation of Bible Baptist Church continue to minister to the down and out and to win the lost.

I hope when you are in your eighties, you still love the Lord and are able to preach, pray and witness like Dr. Ruckman does.

To Plain Old Bill-

To answer your question, Dr. Ruckman is used as a scapegoat by Baptists who profess to believe the "Bible" is the infallible word of God-

But who, when pressed on the issue, admit that they actually believe only the "original autographs" are inspired and that no Book you hold in your hands and read today is inspired by God.

Some MVs profess that the "infallible word of God" is preserved and contained in "all the reliable versions", whatever that means.

By attacking Dr. Ruckman and pointing out what they believe are his failings, they think they have successfully "demolished" the belief of many millions of Christians that the King James Bible - any edition from 1611 to the present - is superior to the emended, emasculated, corrupted manuscripts from which the "modern" English versions were translated.

A true Ruckmanite is a Bible-Believing, Soul-winning, Baptist.

A true Ruckmanite is a Christian who takes the Great Commission seriously and makes supporting foreign missionaries a primary interest of his life.

A true Ruckmanite works hard, doesn't go to Hollywood movies and doesn't even watch TV.

A true Ruckmanite consistently lives for the Lord, week in and week out, year after year, refusing to grow weary in well-doing.

A true Ruckmanite esteems the scriptures far more important and of far weightier consequence than the corrections and critiques and attacks on the scriptures by the nattering nabobs of negativism as represented by the above posts attacking Dr. Ruckman.

Folks who have THE MONARCH OF THE BOOKS - THE KJV as their final authority don't worry too much about the attack chihuahuas nipping at our heels...

Praise God I'm a CHRISTIAN.

You know one that follows CHRIST.
Not one who follows RUCKMAN.

I'm not saying Ruckman is lost. But he has just lost his mind if he thinks the KJV is more inspired than what Paul or Peter wrote.

I don't care how many churches you start, how many souls you've won, How many movies you avoid, How many missionaries you support, how many pastors you've trained, how many courses you've taught, one day you'll have to answer to the Lord for slandering his word, the NIV, NASB, And all other faithful translations.

"A true Ruckmanite is a Bible-Believing, Soul-winning, Baptist."

Should read, " a true Ruckmanite is a false teacher."

Baptist's doctrines come from the Bible.
KJVO is not from the Bible.
It is a Lie.
A Bible-believer is not a Bible worshipper.
A ruckmanite is.

I'm surprised any KJVO on this board is foolish enough to support Ruckman's false doctrines.

My Prayer tonight: "God help those that are taught to worship your creation instead of You."

I appreciate rbrent's upholding his pastor and speaking well of him. Wish we had loyalty like such that was actually deserved.

If Ruckman lives as long as Mary Baker Eddy (almost 90 - long life does not equate with godliness), he will probably be judged as doing more damage to the body of Christ than she ever did.

She started a cult, you know.

tinytim-

I explained to you once before, that Dr. Ruckman believes the KJV is superior to the original autographs in the sense that we have the KJV but we do not have the original autographs.

He has also said, that if we had the original autographs, the KJV would still be superior, in a practical way, since the vast majority of believers cannot read Hebrew and Greek and therefore, if they had the original autographs in front of them, they could not read them and profit from them.

I and most of the folks at Bible Baptist Church am not a follower of Ruckman in the sense that you allege.

Dr. Bob Jones Sr. used to say:

“You can go any distance on the right road with anyone.

But it would be a sin to go any distance on the wrong road with anyone.”

I can follow you or Dr. Bob or Dr. Ruckman any distance on the right road but it would be a sin to follow you or Dr. Bob or Dr. Ruckman any distance on the wrong road...

For some reason, you folks who don’t have any Bible in any language that you believe is the infallible, inspired word of God, have the idea that your lack of a final authority makes you more spiritual than folks who don’t believe like you.

Your odd belief that God has preserved His word in

“all other faithful translations”

is a doctrinal error not supported by scripture.

IF that belief is supported by scripture, please enlighten the BB readers by listing the scriptures which support your belief.

Dr. Bob Griffin wrote:

Dr. Bob, shame on you for associating a Bible-Believing, Independent Baptist, Soul-winning, Missionary Minded, Premillenial, Pre-tribulational Local Church Pastor with a lost, hell-bound heretic like Mary Baker Glover Patterson Eddy.

She did absolutely no damage to the body of Christ if one believes your Reformed Theological interpretation - “all that the Father giveth me shall come to me...” - John 6:37.

You allege Dr. Ruckman does damage to the body of Christ by holding to one final authority and only one final authority?

While you and tinytim hold to multiple authorities so that you, with your superior intellect and insight, can yourselves be the final authority?

I’m not buying that line and neither are millions of other Bible-Believers.

I keep telling your folks---I wished I had a college professor like the Doctor here. Classes would have been a lot more exciting, but I bet he holds his student's feet to the fire--in the real classroom.

Anyway, tell em Doc. Bob---

I went to Ruckman's site and all I could find was stuff for sale, EVERYWHERE---stuff for sale. Books for sale on this subject, Books for sale on that subject. If you want to knoow about the KJV, then we have a book for you in our library, just whip out your Credit Card.

If you want to get a weekly e-mail newsletter, send us five bucks and we'll start sending it to you. My goodness, I have never seen even a commercial company charge for a weekly newsletter, I've seen them used to promote their other products or material, but NOT sell the e-mail itself. If I'm going to sign up for an e-mail newsletter, I at least want a free cheap digital camera or somethin'....

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't find one discussion that wasn't aimed at advertising something being sold. Usually preachers sell things to make money for their organization, I can appreciate that, but not to even have a few free lectures, sermons or whatever so that you can even read his position---hmmmmmmmm. Maybe there is something here, maybe if Dr. Ruckman lets anybody read what he's selling, they wouldn't buy? ;)

This is one of the things that I disagree with the man about, but I don't go around bashing Christians and making fun of their short comings. I wonder how many short comings you may have? Should we make fun of them? Not accordingly to the Bible, (Galatians 6)

You have my written permission to make fun of me all you want to on this website.

I do want to say, in all seriousness, that light joking about Ruckman is a lot better than telling you exactly what I think about the man's philosophy and theology which is and has caused a lot of problems for Christians. If you wish me not to say things in jest. I can do a real job on the man based on the cultic beliefs that he teaches; and I will not violate the Bible, either, because Paul and Jesus both called people spreading lies--exactly what they were! Ruckman may very well be a good Christian man, but he is spreading his philosophy about the KJV and other translations which is NOT BIBLICAL.

So, if you wish, I can get a lot more detailed here about Dr. Ruckman than making a small joke. Your call......

So how is it not Biblical to have the Word of God preserved in the AV 1611 KJB?

Is there anyone here that knows Dr. Peter Ruckman personally?

Or is it the "same ol'-same ol'" "This is what I heard" mess?

If I were to see some one reprove those posting the negatives about Ruckmanm from the "mv" stance, it would at least make them look a little credible.

I don't believe one of "them" can, w/o saying something against the man's person, not honestly that is, post a response to the topic question. (talking about "liars")

It's not a matter of that. It's a matter of being unbiblical that the ONLY valid English translation is the KJV.

I don't know Hitler, but I know enough about him to say that he was quite wrong in what he believed.

Ruckman's writings speak for themselves, unless he was somehow misquoted in his own books.

I'm personally not a big fan of making character attacks of any sort. The fact is, though, he did have a couple of divorces, yet continues to preach, and from what I am aware, I believe that practice is unbiblical.

The guy speaks untruth about God's Word. Does that make him a liar? One must make his or her own connection there.
