was it because “Out of care and concern, and without the comfort of time, I made a decision to limit exposure to employees of color to a murder suspect who could potentially aggravate those feelings,” Lydon explained.

or could it be they was afraid of retaliatition?

Without more of the statement, it sounds rather cleverly worded, open to interpretation.

"Out of care and concern, and without the comfort of time, I made a decision to limit exposure to employees of color to a murder suspect who could potentially aggravate those feelings," Lydon said in a statement given during an internal investigation and provided by the sheriff's office to the Star Tribune. He has since been demoted.

Eddie Ray Routh, the killer of Chris Kyle, came through the prison I worked at . He was placed in Administrative Segregation under continuous direct observation for his own protection. An Air Force retiree was assigned to watch him. He refused. I was next. I refused. Supervisors finally figured out it was a good idea to stay away from ex military to watch him.

Under the circumstances, I think it was a good decision to keep minority COs away from Chauvin.

Their first responsibility is his safety, not the tender feelings of their employees.

The lawsuit is without merit.

Take an insane man who has recently been to mental hospitals to a shooting range. Text someone saying you think he is truly nuts. Talk to him as little as possible. Then leave him alone with guns and ammo while you walk down range.

Don't let sympathy override common sense.

The prison guards are right to feel insulted by Lyndon acting like all black guards are racist. It's one thing to have insubordination from prison guard, it's another to assume insubordination because of someone's skin color.

The lawsuit should happen just to make sure it doesn't become the norm.

But - lets say something happen to the inmate - but it was not at the hands of the black guards. - what will be the initial thinking of many people- and thats the problem - people assume - and then take unnecessary action.

It's already the "norm", especially for high profile inmates.

The safety of the inmate is paramount. The COs need to get over themselves. It's not about them.
