Whats interesting is nomally we hear that Republicans are extremists - but for this incident - we only hear Trump Supporters. Yet, it was the extremists who had planned this - and actually it may have been extensive planing.

Now, IMHO - some not-so-extremists R's just got caught up in all the action.

It's not an inauguration. It's an installation.

I agree that there were some bad actors (not necessarily Republicans). Trump set the stage, created an emotionally hyper mob. It may have been some extremists, but most of those who were arrested were just regular Republicans who allowed themselves to get carried away by their emotions.

If there was extensive planning then it is worse for Trump. It shows that others anticipated Trump's inability to diffuse and zeal to instigate. They may have taken advantage of the situation, but President Trump is the one who made the mob a mob.

I am. For better or worse, he will be POTUS, & I shall support him, long as he doesn't go off on a New-Age-Liberal tangent.

I imagine that the Democrats will retaliate against all people who supported Trump vocally. Silicon Valley will deplatform most Republicans. Their Spanish Inquisition will grow stronger as time goes by. Do you think that this Board will shut down or be forced to only allow Democrat opinions to be posted?

I doubt anything will change insofar as platforms like the BB. The DNC knows it has the least popular political platform (more voiced that they liked Trump's policies while disapproving of Trump). So they do have to step up controlling the narrative a bit more - but they have to be careful not to over play their hand (they will over play their hand, I suspect).

I do not think that the board will shut down. It is not a political board. But if Christians here lose their voice to the GOP or the DNC, then it may as well be shut down.

For the most part, it's just a bunch of chicken little's crying that the sky is falling. It happens every four to eight years. The Democrats were whining, looking for their pacifiers last election. Now it's the Republicans. Next time I suspect it'll be the Democrats again. It is the World. And the World goes round.

Just to be on the safe side maybe we should call Biden Honest Joe the Catholic Saint and Nobel Prize Winner.

Too late!! The MSM and social media monopolies who have overstepped their bounds and unwittingly awakened a sleeping giant!!
    Unacceptable.
...always the equalizer you are, even when its not close.
...always the passivist too? But if such a thing happened this lion might consider acquiring it and securing it in one of the new or upcoming free speech safe zones, on principle alone.

No, not being passive. This is a Christian board. If it becomes a Republican board then it may as well end.

The world will be the world, and the Church will be the Church.

Biden should call up more troops if he has the slightest concern. Look, I have lived through a lot of bad presidents. I just ignore them personally and wait for their departure. LBJ, Carter, Clinton, Obama—all were bad leaders. So they alone gave the USA 25 bad years.

Not very many younger Christians are Republicans. I say that in case somebody in California is reading this and thinking of shutting down this board. Don’t we need a safe space around here for people who just woke up?

Probably not, but just in case I have the opportunity, when will it be? :Wink

Seriously, I'll probably have to catch it on reruns. Such is life. But that way I can speed through it. :Thumbsup

I hope the younger generation are moving from politics. It would be nice to see the Church return to being the Church instead of choosing which social gospel meets their lifestyles. We need a space for a different kind of "woke" Christians - Christians woke to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

    I will.

I have watched every inauguration since Carter’s in 1977, with the exception of George H. W. Bush in 1989. I was in college, had class, and had no way to record it. I didn’t own a television at the time.
