Where Alexandra? give a Chapter and Verse.

BTW is Alexandra Spears your real name or a symbolism reflecting a desire to throw spears at the Alexandrian MSS?

Thank you, Scott, for pointing out the obvious. Disagreeing on matters of interpretation are are not salvific issues. If that were the case, there would be little hope of salvation for most of us, since no two people on this board share exactly the same interpretation of the entire scripture. The current topic is no exception.

Well, I guess there is nothing to talk about, then.

This is what the argument, if it can be called that, has come to. MV defenders do so because they are spiritually blind. Why? Because if they weren't, they would reject the MVs. If they rejected the MVs they wouldn't be spiritually blind. Makes sense, huh?

In addition, talk about jerking a verse out of context. Paul is talking about the Jews and election.

But take heart, MV supporters; according to this verse, it's not your fault. God has blinded you.

Have you visited her website? I believe this is her real name. She was a part of the Worldwide Church of God cult in the past (according to her testimony) and now is obviously deeply enamored in KJVonlyism sect.

One of the blessings of this forum is the continual challenging of the false teaching of the "only" sect by our members. Who knows that the tens of thousands of "lurkers" who read these threads but never join or post will not be lured by this teaching or might escape onlyism (as did Alex from Armstrongism).

This is my prayer (and obviously just my opinion).

This statement is also NOT true. </font>[/QUOTE]The fact that you refuse to admit, but I admit, is obvious to see missing doctrines in many verses in modern versions.

    Askjo,

You have just made four posts without addressing one issue. Why waste your time and our time if you will not support these attacks that you are making on the word of God?

If you believe there are doctrines missing, then show us these doctrines. Every single attempt to do this so far has failed miserably but maybe you finally have the answer. If you believe that the NIV denies the deity of Christ then deal with the very clear verses in the NIV that support the deity of Christ. In order to believe what you believe you either have to be lying or merely uninformed. Anyone who reads the NIV knows good and well that the doctrine of the deity of Christ is at least as explicit, if not more explicit, than in most other versions, especially the KJV. To say otherwise is to lie or to be uninformed.

These one line non answers do not help support your point. They rather indicate that you have no real support for your point.

This is the same website as the links you gave above it. Moreover, this is the same tired oft-quoted information that can be found at the Chick Publications website.

you say the MVs do not pervert doctrine in the Bible(which is a lie, they do pervert doctrine) as fact;can we not deduce the same about your statements? just because you keep repeating it,does that make it true? NO!!!

Then by all means, please show us these doctrines. So far many have attempted to show these doctrines but every single attempt has been an abject (and embarrassing) failure. So far, not one person of your persuasion has been able to identify a single perverted doctrine in the MVs. That is telling evidence.

No, our repetition of them does not make it true. What makes our statements true is that they conform to reality. Your statements do not.

Actually, I never made that statement. Of course you already knew that. Exactly who is lying here?

&gt;&gt;just because you keep repeating it,does that make it true? NO!!!

    &lt;laughing hysterically&gt;
Thanks for reiterating the point that I made.

Jeremiah 36 does not contain "exact details" to support KJV-Onlyism in any way, shape or form.

    OK, I read it.

Are you accusing MV defenders of burning the word of God? So far as I know, none of the defenders have ever laid a hand on the underlying KJV texts (which had to be recreated by Scrivener because they are NOT the TR).

None of the MV defenders I know have attacked Scrivener's tremendous work of scholarship (and it certainly is that) and consider it an important piece of biblical scholarship. Just not necessarily authoritative.

    An apology is in order.

    Not holding my breath.

Who's ready to take the NIV challenge?

    INSTRUCTIONS:

Using the New International Version Bible, answer the following questions to this NIV quiz.

Do not rely on your memory. As the Bible is the final authority, you must take the answer from the Bible verse (not from footnotes but from the text).

    1. Fill in the missing words in Matthew 5:44. "Love your enemies,__________ them that curse you, ______________ to them that hate you, and pray for them that __________ and persecute you."

    2. According to Matthew 17:21, what two things are required to cast out this type of demon?

    3. According to Matthew 18:11, why did Jesus come to earth?

    4. According to Matthew 27:2, what was Pilate's first name?

    5. In Matthew 27:35, when the wicked soldiers parted His garments, they were fulfilling the words of the prophet. Copy what the prophet said in Matthew 27:35 from the NIV.

    6. In Mark 3:15, Jesus gave the apostles power to cast out demons and to: ____________

    7. According to Mark 7:16, what does a man need to be able to hear?

    8. According to Luke 7:28, what was John? (teacher, prophet, carpenter, etc.). What is his title or last name?

    9. In Luke 9:55, what did the disciples not know?

    10. In Luke 9:56, what did the Son of man not come to do? According to this verse, what did He come to do?

    11. In Luke 22:14, how many apostles were with Jesus?

    12. According to Luke 23:38, in what three languages was the superscription written?

    13. In Luke 24:42, what did they give Jesus to eat with His fish?

    14. John 3:13 is a very important verse, proving the deity of Christ. According to this verse (as Jesus spoke), where is the Son of man?

    15. What happened each year as told in John 5:4?

    16. In John 7:50, what time of day did Nicodemus come to Jesus?

    17. In Acts 8:37, what is the one requirement for baptism?

    18. What did Saul ask Jesus in Acts 9:6?

    19. Write the name of the man mentioned in Acts 15:34.

    20. Study Acts 24:6-8. What would the Jew have done with Paul? What was the chief captain's name? What did the chief captain command?

    21. Copy Romans 16:24 word for word from the NIV.

    22. First Timothy 3:16 is perhaps the greatest verse in the New Testament concerning the deity of Christ. In this verse, who was manifested in the flesh?

    23. In the second part of First Peter 4:14, how do [they] speak of Christ? And, what do we Christians do?

    24. Who are the three Persons of the Trinity in First John 5:7?

    25. Revelation 1:11 is another very important verse that proves the deity of Christ. In the first part of this verse Jesus said, "I am the A______________ and O___________, the _________ and the _______:"

Conclusion: Little space is provided for your answers, but it's much more than needed. If you followed the instructions above, you not only failed the test, you receive a big goose egg.

(Ed. These are all missing in the NIV.) So now what do you think of your "accurate, easy to understand, up to date Bible"?

If you would like to improve your score, and in fact score 100%, you can take this test using the Authorized (King James) Bible.
