As through many persecutions of the Jewish people, would anyone conclude that the reason may be, because when the people was asked by Pilate the ruler when JESUS was before the people, who shall I release, the people said free Barabbas and crucify JESUS, Pilate said to the people that he found no reason in this JESUS for him to be crucify. The people said, "His blood be on us and our children." They was given that in the hands of a Holy GOD and in AD 70 they were in seige by the Roman army and was distroyed. Could that also be why the Jews on up to this day has been a defeated and sought after people and have suffered for the cries of the Jewish people when they said, " His blood be upon us and our children."

No, I don't think so. Christians, so called, have used that excuse to persecute the Jews at various times. The main reason the Jews are persecuted is because the people persecuting them are evil.

peace to you:praying:

Would it be accurate to say that people who persecute anyone are evil. or at least misguided?

Persecution happens in all circles of peoples. Could it be an expressed attitude? Perhaps Jews express an attitude of superiority as God's chosen people?

There is no question that Jews went through hell during the 2nd World War and the halocaust. Then, so did other peoples including the Poles, the gypsies, the Jehovah's Witnesses and anyone who opposed the Nazi regime, but these details are often forgotten or overlooked.

I survived the extensive bombing of London. Do I have a right to show a superior attitude when dealing with that war? Hardly. I can only praise God for such mercy, and use the experience as my contribution to society.

I am not saying that all Jews fall under the superiority label, but some do, and this can land them into trouble, in my opinion.

Cheers,

Jim

This is just garbage and racist stereotyping. Hey Jim, do you also think that the woman is to blame when she is raped?

No I don't blame the woman.

If you knew anything about me, the term racist would hardly fit. It is called reality, mate, reality. I risked my life to battle racism during the Civil Rights movement in 60's.

Not an ounce of racism in my soul.

Cheers,

Jim

Well, then I will give you the benefit of the doubt and chalk your statement up to ignorance. But that type of garbage that the Jews attitude bringing on persecution is racism 101, so you ought not spew it.

For as long as I can remember Jews have been hated. Someone once told me that it was because of jealousy. Which really threw me off. Why be jealous of someone so persecuted and hated. It has to have something to do with there being God’s chosen people. I have to admit that I do not envy the Jew. I do my best not to hate anyone for any reason.

As far as being hated for wanting Christ dead why care if you hate Jews. Jesus was a Jew.

Uh oh. You goofed. There are people on this board who do not believe the Jews are God's chosen people. There are even long drawn out threads about it. But, as you can tell from my Avatar, I am not one of them.

Now you will get a flood of responses saything the OT was for then and the NT is for today and the Church replaced Israel and the Church gets all the promises made to Abraham and David, ad infinitum. (Replacement Theology)

The Jews have always been hated and persecuted so the premise in the OP is faulty. How many hundreds of years were they in Egypt in bondage - long before Jesus Christ. And how many were persecuted and carried away in captivity long before Christ? The OP is based on a faulty premise that did not originate with the OP here on the BB, but has its roots in anti-Semitism which has been prevalent in the RCC, Lutheran Church, and other denominations. This is in no way to cast any aspersion on the member who started the OP, but just to say that the premise is faulty and the idea has been around for a couple of thousand years.....

As stated, they are God's chosen.

That being the case, who, specifically, would be the most opposed to the Jews?

Figure this out, and you'll see one of the basic reasons that they (Jews) have been on the wrong side of the persecution equation for many millenia.

Another basic reason is their total rejection (as a nation) of the Messiah and the attendant consequences; again noted: "His blood be on us and our children".

Then there were some who looked funny, had weird customs, acted superior, etc., etc., etc.

I have been told that the Jewish people have great minds. I don't know for sure, but I do not show any hate towards them. I used to be a Route Saleman in north Baltimore and I found them to be good people.

They make wonderful Christians that's for sure.

God did judge Israel severly for rejecting the Messiah.

What some Christians fail to understand is their own Christianity.
