Why Detroit is a great sports town

    If that is the qualification for a great sports city then does that mean Jacksonville, Atlanta, New Orleans, Miama, Tampa, and San Diego are great sports cities too?

    You are looking at things through Detroit colored glasses and cannot see the truth. Detroit is a good sports city, but it is not on the level of some of the other great sports cities that have been mentioned above.

    Yup. And by the way I am not looking at things through Detroit colored glasses. I am agreeing with what I read by an ESPN writter back in the Spring.

    As far as U of M's winningest record, sure they have been playing a lot longer. In fact they taught ND how to play football. But that does not negate their record since there were plenty of other good schools with decent football teams back then as well.

    Pitts. in the 70's for not being a Big City did good .Four Super Bowls ,Two World Series and a Collage Championship .Not much since though !Baseball here is a joke !
