Are you sure about that?

But as one has already posted, those in America have not seen what real persecution looks like.
Preaching on homosexuality is one thing. This preacher decided to preach on radical Islam.

'Satanic Islam' sermon Belfast pastor James McConnell says he faces six months in jail."

In an exclusive interview with the Belfast Telegraph, Pastor McConnell last night defiantly said he'd go to prison rather than withdraw the remarks.

"I am 78 years of age and in ill health but jail knows no fear for me," he said.

"They can lock me up with sex offenders, hoodlums and paramilitaries and I will do my time.

"I have no regrets about what I said. I do not hate Muslims but I denounce Islam as a doctrine and I make no apologies for that. I will be pleading 'not guilty' when I stand in the dock in August."

The charges centre on a sermon he gave in his church last year in which he said "Islam is heathen, Islam is satanic, Islam is a doctrine spawned in hell". The sermon was streamed on the internet.

Pastor McConnell said: "I am facing up to six months in jail and a hefty fine for saying what I believe. I have had four heart bypasses, a liver operation and I have cancer and diabetes.

"All I need to get by in prison is my tablets, my reading glasses and books from the library.

"If I am sent to jail, I will use my time there reading and writing. My wife is 79 years old and in ill health too. But she has always been my rock and we will get through this together."

Pastor McConnell said that the charges against him were symbolic of the "persecution" Christians are currently facing.

"It is a case of back to the future. In the first century, the apostles were jailed for preaching the gospel.

"Early Christians were boiled in oil, burnt at the stake and devoured by wild beasts. If they faced that and kept their faith, I can easily do six months in jail."

What a tremendous testimony!
You ought to read the whole thing.

There are different levels of persecution. It is all persecution the same. If we fail to recognize persecution early on and simply dismiss it as non persecution because it is not on the same level as elsewhere then we will no doubt experience it at all levels.

Our western world is too "civilized" to persecute Christians in the normal sense of "persecution." No, we'll legislate, judiciate, and regulate; that's the "civilized" way....

For this time being. Europe was also "civilized" 70+ years ago.

I didn't notice the date. At the end of the article they printed:
"Copyright © 2015 The Washington Times, LLC. "

I suppose that makes it more relevant. They probably think they have more teeth to back their "ordinance" now with this decision in place.

No worries. It means a podunk town overstepped, failed and got called on it.

They're not, at least on this board.

Un-believers do not traditionally define marriage to include same-gender couples.....
It's Universallyabsurd no matter what the religious tradition you are coming from.

They aren't acting like Hindus
They aren't acting like Sikhs
They aren't acting like primitives in New Guinea......(who although they might eat another person.....didn't include same sex couples in their idea of "marriage".)

They aren't "acting like un-believers" they have simply lost their collective minds.......

I think now would be a good time to legalize pot.....
They couldn't become more collectively short-sighted and deranged anyways, let the drugs flow.

They don't....

They feel shocked when the highest and most prestigious Court in the land tries to tell us not only that:

1.) "same-sex marriage" is a meaningful and intelligible concept
but that
2.) It is actually protected by the U.S. Constitution.

I think younhave your head in the sand.

This agenda is almost 100% anti-Christian. So the Hindu argument is moot.

And if you think Constitutional protection is going to protect you, then you are serving the wrong God. God is our shield, not some document which was signed 240 years ago and is being trashed by this worldly nation.

Don't hope in Constitutions, nor political systems. Hope in God.

I'd respond, but, this entire post addresses essentially nothing I said.

I can't respond to it. What does my "hindu" argument even entail in your mind? I don't think you even understood it at all.

Where do I suggest that I'm "hoping" in the Constitution?

Whom, pray tell, denies that God is our shield?

So which phantom posters are you debating with? You are arguing points nobody is making.

You said "they aren't acting lije Hindus...."

They don't have to be specifically acting like any certain religious adherents to be unbelievers. It was an ignorant statement. Considering the whole campaign seems directly aimed at Christians, they are simply unbelievers.

So again, who cares if a court of unbelievers allows unbelievers to act like unbelievers?

And you specifically mentioned Constitutional Protection. It was the last line of your drivel. You said "ACTUALLY PROTECTED BY THE CONSTITUTION."

So in that regard, even you are acting like an unbeliever. You are hoping in a man-made political system to be fair, to provide a shield, etc

I know it. Everyone who disagrees with you or Rev is angry, engaging in a "personal attack" or something else. It's easy that way, so you don't have to answer when someone presses you.

Here's part of what I referenced. Aimed at Christians. They're unbelievers "expressing" themselves. And this is not in the U.S.

Just as there are different levels of Fundamentalist Wacko.

Westboro Baptist may be a little more extreme than a right wing political nut, but just because it's not on the same level doesn't mean it's not the same thing. It is all against scripture.

BTW...I'm not endorsing the left, either.

James, there's no point to answering you....
You completely missed my points and even missed what I was saying when you quoted me back to myself!!! :BangHead:

You still think I was suggesting that the SCOTUS "protect us"?

Question:
In my Original post, what is the object of the word "protected"?

You weren't "pressing" anyone....you were debating points no one made.
You were "pressing" a figment of your imagination.

And, B.T.W.....
Yes, you are (by all appearances) acting irrationally angry and nearly every post you make is FULL of invective and personal attacks.

Jonathan Borland pointed out many of them to you, and you've piled on numerous more insults and personal attacks since then, all you have to do is look at your own posts. They are nasty. Anyone reading this thread can see that.
